The hotel is peaceful and relaxed with lovely decor. The lounge areas are so comfortable and welcoming- even as a solo traveller, I felt instantly at home. The bed was super comfortable too. The location is outstanding with amazing views over the moors. Good value for money too!

Such a beautiful hotel, very welcoming. Staff were amazing nothing too much trouble, the food was excellent so nice to have vegetables with our meals not just the usual chips. The signature pies were amazing . Just be aware of the stairs to the bedrooms very steep

Lyndhurst is a great place to stay for exploring the New Forest. It has a good mix of interesting shops and restaurants and a good sized car-park in the centre. The location the area nice cosy pub the size of our room 4 What let it down for us was the lack of options for gluten free breakfast no cereals no fruit no yogurts then when we did get breakfast it was cold toast rock hard it wasn’t even busy only us two for breakfast We wanted to order gluten free fish and chips but fryer broken so was limited on evening options but what we did order was tasty I must say I was impressed by the staff knowledge on g/f intolerance and allergies.louiseUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

Lyndhurst has some interesting shops particularly the antiques emporium and some nice pubs and restaurants and the Anglican church of St Michael's where the original Alice who was the model for ''Alice in Wonderland''was buried. I went to the Passage to India Indian restaurant which is quite near to the Penny Farthing hotel. There is a Ferrari showroom if you want to check them out but the cars are very expensive.

It is a lovely village, full of character.
It is a lovely village, full of character. It was the fourth, or fifth, time we have stayed in, or around, Lyndhurst. There are great shops, cafe's, restaurants and pubs. It is small enough to comfortably walk around. We ate in "The Forage, which is a modern Italian style restaurant with a very good menu selection. The only issue is that Lyndhurst is a focal point for all the roads into and out of the NewForest, which often leads to long traffic queues into and out of the village. However, the main road through is one way, which makes it easier for pedestrians to cross.

LOVED how housekeeping DIDN'T unnecessarily change our towels. All too often hotels have the "consider the environment..." notice but STILL change neatly folded towels. Well done White Rabbit. The location, within easy walking distance of Lyndhurst's fabulous food outlets, also has great parking for our classic cars.

Our room was very comfortable and whilst not over large, was well decorated and furnished and very cosy and warm for a winter stay. Bathroom has been upgraded and was stylish. Great breakfast - plenty of choice. Good location for strolling into Lyndhurst with a good range of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Also easy parking at the hotel. We had a Shepard’s Hut (number 23) and even though it was snug, it was super cute and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in at a hotel!!
