Food poisoning from the restaruant, staff just said it wasnt our restaurant. It takes 48 hours to get food poisoning. I thought we were being responsible telling them about it but they were in denial.
We had ordered toilet paper as we had run out in the room. We had to shower after each event. After 3 hours we gave up! Dont expect any service from this hotel.
I was looking forward to a McDonald hotel but this was the WRONG one.

It was far bigger than I was expecting. Very well serviced by local buses to surrounding towns and villages. We travelled everywhere by bus. Lots of places to eat in the evening. Local people always ready and willing to help with travel advice.

I liked the central location of the Highland hotel and the activities for the children. The Winking Owl Aviemore is by far the best place to eat. It has such a huge choice of dishes at reasonable prices and great choices for celiacs and vegans. The staff at the Winking owl are lovely and there is a great atmosphere.

The town situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. There are beautiful views of all the mountains, forests and lakes. Not far from the legendary Loch Ness, it's hard to spot a monster. Amazing fogs.

It was very snowy when I arrived on Christmas day and the town was quiet. Its a pleasant place and a great stop off point to explore the area. It has plenty of cafes and restaurants, as well as shops to keep folk happy. But its real beauty is in the welcome and the access to the surrounding areas.
This was a great place to stay in the heart of Aviemore which allowed easy access to all the shops and attractions by walking. Its beautifully decorated in Scottish style with a nice Pub and Restaurant on site. The room we had was small but functioned perfectly for our needs. We ate at the restaurant twice including the free breakfast which was very good with lots of choices and great service! Would not hesitate to stay here again as it felt like traditional Scotland!
This was a good place to explore the nearby area, which was what we wanted. Even though the bathrooms or one bedroom are on the smaller side, they were perfectly functional and we enjoyed our stay there. It was pleasant to sit in the living room in the evening or on the little terrace after lunch when the sun finally came out. I cooked our meals and the kitchen was equipped with everything I needed. It was a great place for the three nights we had in Aviemore.
We were in the lodges this time and decor is very very tired. Big, clean lodge but just needs modernised (thread bare carpets isn’t appropriate for a £300 per night rate)!! Now been to Highlands & Aviemore hotels and still enjoy Aviemore as a location. Glad the swimming temperature is better in summer as very cold when we usually visit in January. Breakfast lovely and resort entertainment crew excellent, especially Rory!! What a hoot.
The breakfast was really excellent (you need to select your choices and time the day before) and the staff very friendly. The location is great for exploring the Cairngorms. It is a short drive away from of Aviemore town center, so you don't get the crowds and traffic, but close enough to pick up things you need. There is plenty of parking and a lake right near by. The restaurant serves a nice variety of dishes.
Small Country Hotel, great staff with very friendly relaxed attitude. Food was excellent. Pleasant strolling in fields behind with your pets as dogs and cats welcome. Only a couple of miles from Aviemore where there are plenty of activities. Not to mention skiing!
Altogether a very pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone
Lovely location not far from the main hike tracks and surounded by beautiful nature all around. Its a short walk from Aviemore town centre(bus, train station restaurants and shops)
Hotel has great play area and plenty activities for kids, including free swiming pool and sauna for adults.
The apartment is new, absolutely spotless, and very well equipped. It is also in an excellent location. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend High Range Lodge Hotel to anyone looking for lovely clean and comfortable accommodation in Aviemore.
Thought it would be on same standard as Macdonald Forest Hills which was outstanding . Staff very helpful here but hotel massive disappointment. Bedrooms are cramped and TV didn't work. Handle fell off door..stick with its sister hotel the forest hills in the trossachs
We loved our hosts, so accommodating and helpful. The home-cooked breakfast was perfect. The shared kitchen facility had everything needed to host our own meals. The pod was laid out well and the bed was the most comfortable bed of all our hotel stays in Scotland (5).
The fifth time I've stayed here and it was as good as always. The lodges are well stocked with everything you'd need including shampoo and shower gel. It's an easy walk into Aviemore for food and supplies, and the restaurant attached does lovely takeaway food.
The Aviemore resort has 3 hotels and include a range of great leisure facilities including leisure pool, soft play area, cinema, ice rink, golf course, shopping arcade. You will never be bored something for all ages. The staff were welcoming and very professional
Hotel was lovely, right in the heart of Aviemore, firework display at the bells on New Year's night was absolutely brilliant, never seen a fire work display as good anywhere in my life, well worth it. Breakfast was awesome and views are 2nd to none.
The room was comfortable and clean, the location of the hotel is central to Aviemore and there is plenty of parking.
This hotel is linked to the activity centre which is good as you don't have to go outdoors to get there.
Very nice, clean hotel with wonderful, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom. Very easy walk to downtown Aviemore and the forest park with walking trails. It was also easy to access the walking trail along the river.
I was many, many times in Aviemore and always stay in hotels, and that was a mistake! Perfect place for holiday ! You can find even board games and lego for kids 😉
