Lovely Inn. Stylish decoration and furnishings, cosy atmosphere. Very old building full of character. Staff very friendly, literally nothing was too much trouble. Family bedroom had everything you need, bathroom had bath as well as a separate shower. Big car park and a large garden area with seating. Ending up joining in with Morris Dancing troupe who arrived… but that was our choice, not compulsory!

It was extremely relaxed and very comfortable.
Absolutely spotless too. We had 2xsingle beds but that was my mistake. Will book super king size next time. Breakfast was excellent. Great selection for breakfast, hot or cold food or both if you like. Beautiful surroundings with lovely countryside, a lake and a play park for children. There’s even a cafe bar on site.
Rich in historic character and traditional charm, this stone-built coaching inn originally dates back to the 1500s. It offers comfortable en suite rooms, free Wi-Fi and ample free parking.

Brilliantly situated for an overnight when going to Longleat. Wonderfully friendly staff and exceptionally good food at reasonable prices. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Very hilly access to main shopping area.
Stayed in Frome for easy access to Longleat but visited Wells and would suggest if you're planning a longer trip, stay there. Wells is far more interesting.
We stayed at Bistro Lotte in Frome for two nights. Good place and nice food for the evening but not cheap (£60 a head with wine).
Went for fish and chips at the White Row Farm, Beckington for the second (Friday) evening.

I know Frome as I lived here in the 80s. Lovely quaint market town, but it has become more busy and parking is difficult generally. Two theatres... great! And lots of entertainment in Cheese and Grain. Very hilly place, ok if you’re fit to walk everywhere, if not there are buses.

Lots going on and plenty of places to wander around. Interesting independent shops and eating places (but book ahead at the weekend fof evening dining). Good as a base for exploring West Wiltshire and Somerset.

The George hotel, fronting on to a busy main road, was noisy; it was only single-glazed. From what we could tell, Frome offers no other hotels - shame.
There were some nice eating places in the town; we visited a fine Italian restaurant on three evenings, no less.
We also happened on an excellent coffee/chocolate shop, appropriately called Choc. The staff were excellent, as was the produce.
Frome benefits from a railway station, with frequent services to Bath and beyond, also to Weymouth. Alas, for us it involved a mile-long walk from the centre of the town.

Absolutely beautiful and quirky.
Absolutely beautiful and quirky. Loads of independent shops and eateries. Wonderful independent cinema and fabulous old-fashioned bakery with gorgeous cakes.
The Lamb and Fountain is the most incredible old-fashioned pub in a backstreet. Like stepping back in time. Delicious and very cheap farmhouse cider on draft and cheese and onion rolls for sale. Has a lovely courtyard garden down an alleyway out the back.

Frome was not like how it was explained on the website. We felt it was poor in alot of the places.Catherine street was ok and cheap street. We were really disappointed and would not return thought it was run down and a bit rough
A lovely log cabin with everything you need, also had complimentary milk, biscuits and wine on arrival. 1 bedroom with really comfy large bed and sofa bed in the living area which we used. Good bathroom. Had everything we needed. Although in owners garden it was very private. Had seating area outside and parking. Good location for Frome town centre which you can easily walk to. All good
The location was great. Frome is a wonderful town, full of historic streets & buildings & very charming. It is also a good location to visit other neighbouring areas. The host is lovely and very communicative, and provided some basic items such as coffee, tea, milk, and basic cooking ingredients etc. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very cosy.
The room (5) was very interesting the bed was comfy the food was good honest fare, the staff were very friendly pleasant and helpful. All in all a great experience. I would recomend the Archangel to friends. The location was excellent and for an hotel in the centre of town I had two very quite nights sleep.
What a great B&B! Very handy location for our visit to Longleat. Walking distance to Frome town centre with parking on site. Frome itself was nice, lots of independent shops with plenty of coffee shops!
The B&B itself was great. Had everything we need, Claire could not have been any more accommodating.
Beds and shower were excellent. Location was brilliant - easy walk into the centre of Frome and convenient for my daughter and family staying in a rented cottage. Parking easy. Frome is also convenient for lots of other places nearby. Awesome food at the bistro - but you do need to book.
The location was perfect for exploring Frome and the surrounding area. The hotel decor was chic, so light and airy, as was our room. The bed was easily the most comfortable I've ever slept in when staying away from home, with softer than soft bedding. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Beautiful historic home in an ideal location to explore downtown Frome. Very friendly owners who were welcoming and provided helpful information. It was really nice to have a little fridge with fresh milk and bottled water even. Beautiful views over garden and city.
Beautiful location, easy distance to Frome. Lovely room, very comfy bed. Had lunch in the cafe at the hotel, very good food. Breakfast was great, full English, the pancake maker is awesome. Staff are very welcoming, friendly, and kind.
Can highly recommend.
Couldn’t fault it for the price and one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a pub /hotel good quality not cheap crap even Heinz beans and farm style bacon and sausage very tastie indeed, and I’m quite a foodie that lets them know if it’s bad.
Top marks!!
everybody at the George Hotel were super friendly
the gentleman behind the bar and at breakfast
time was really helpful in guiding us where to visit
the breakfast was amazing and again a warm smile
as soon as you arrive for breakfast in a morning.
Location perfect for exploring Frome.
Host very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Incredibly comfortable in her company.
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay and would not look anywhere else for accommodation if returning to Frome.
We were made to feel so welcome. Lovely quiet location. Lovely touches such as chocolates in the room and two mini Prosecco bottles. Took about 20 minutes to walk into the centre of Frome
It's in the most perfect location to immerse yourself in the charm of Frome. Glorious to walk out the door and with the outdoor space off the master a quiet refuge
