Food excellent we had breakfast and evening meal.
Evening meal was booked provisionally for around 8 people but staff were able to increase this to almost double that many without any problems .

Loved the location! Really felt part of the New Forest.
Something wonderful and different to see (and hear!) each morning as I opened the curtains.
Ponies on the green, a pack of Bloodhounds being exercised , led and flanked by cyclists, cows, a pony and trap ...
Such a beautiful hotel, very welcoming. Staff were amazing nothing too much trouble, the food was excellent so nice to have vegetables with our meals not just the usual chips. The signature pies were amazing . Just be aware of the stairs to the bedrooms very steep

The Bell Inn is several miles from Lyndhurst in the beautiful New Forest; lovely walks over heath and woodland and, if you're lucky, you'll encounter ponies, donkeys and pigs roaming free locally; drive carefully!

Lyndhurst is a great place to stay for exploring the New Forest. It has a good mix of interesting shops and restaurants and a good sized car-park in the centre.
That said, it can get very busy and there can be traffic queues in high-season since it is a bit of a bottleneck. So I'd recommend visiting slightly off-season.

What let it down for us was the lack of options for gluten free breakfast no cereals no fruit no yogurts then when we did get breakfast it was cold toast rock hard it wasn’t even busy only us two for breakfast
We wanted to order gluten free fish and chips but fryer broken so was limited on evening options but what we did order was tasty I must say I was impressed by the staff knowledge on g/f intolerance and allergies.

Lyndhurst has some interesting shops particularly the antiques emporium and some nice pubs and restaurants and the Anglican church of St Michael's where the original Alice who was the model for ''Alice in Wonderland''was buried.
I went to the Passage to India Indian restaurant which is quite near to the Penny Farthing hotel.
There is a Ferrari showroom if you want to check them out but the cars are very expensive.

It is a lovely village, full of character.
It is a lovely village, full of character. It was the fourth, or fifth, time we have stayed in, or around, Lyndhurst. There are great shops, cafe's, restaurants and pubs. It is small enough to comfortably walk around. We ate in "The Forage, which is a modern Italian style restaurant with a very good menu selection. The only issue is that Lyndhurst is a focal point for all the roads into and out of the NewForest, which often leads to long traffic queues into and out of the village. However, the main road through is one way, which makes it easier for pedestrians to cross.
Beautiful house with 3 bedrooms available. Owners helped bring the luggage to the rooms upstairs. Entrance is more or less private as the rest of the house can be, and is closed off. Breakfast was great, cooked to order, and the owners Nick and Judith spent some time chatting with us about their business location is perfect. The main street of Lyndhurst is very picturesque with lots of shops and restaurant from which to choose. Avalon house is just a 5 minute walk away. Would absolutely stay here again.
A lovely hotel set right in the middle of The New Forest. The hotel is situated right in middle of the High Street of Lyndhurst only a few yards from the pubs and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at this hotel was very nice with a lovely full English breakfast every morning. The Wi-Fi was excellent and free parking in a secluded car park at the rear. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes definitely, would I stay there again, yes definitely.
Perfectly located in Lyndhurst- quiet and easy to access. Short walk to the shops and new forest and only 10 min drive to Paultons Park. The staff were helpful and friendly, paying particular attention to our 4 year old daughter and making her feel very welcome. Indoor pool was great and the whole hotel was clean and tidy. The room was spacious and ideal of a family. Food was of a high quality. Will definitely be returning!
The location is perfect, easy access to Lyndhurst by car. Gorgeous surroundings of the New Forest and ponies to great you in the morning. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety to cater for every taste and preference and the quality and portions were perfect.
It's very kid and dog friendly. We had a wonderful time and look forward to another stay at the Beaulieu Hotel.
The location was perfect with easy access to the main shopping street and restaurants in
Lyndhurst. The Heritage Centre was an easy 5 minute walk, and there were plenty of places within easy reach to explore by car.
The staff were friendly and helpful and a generous breakfast was included in the price. Free car parking was available at the rear of the hotel, which was very convenient.
We were well looked after and staff were very attentive. My wife is disabled although access was not the best, with the help of the staff this was not a problem. I have been coming to Lyndhurst for many years but this was the first time we had stayed at the Stag. We will be back again next year. Good value for money and a very pleasant stay. Many thanks to the Stag.!!
The Ormonde House Hotel made us feel very welcomed and all the Staff lovely helpful and friendly. Good choice for Breakfast and cooked to perfection. A very sweet young girl served us each day.
We stayed in a lovely quiet Room for 3 Night BB for my Birthday. It’s just a 10 min walk into Lyndhurst Town Centre makes for a great place to stay.
The apartment was fantastic with superb attention to detail. Parking was next to entrance, and the adjacent car park had 22v electric car charging ports - another bonus.
Seb and Kate, the hosts, went above and beyond to make sure that every detail of our break to Lyndhurst, New Forest, was absolutely spot on. Cannot recommend highly enough.
The hotel had a nice atmosphere and the staff were excellent. It was my wife’s birthday and chocolates and a card were in the room as well as a tile decorated with Happy Birthday on the dinner table. Nice touch.
The manager was visible and hands on. Obviously leads by example. The dinner was good and the breakfast excellent.
Everything about Spot in the Woods was excellent. The location, hotel decor and room was beautiful. The staff are so friendly and attentive. They couldn't be more helpful. The food is delicious. The surrounding area is stunning. It was a very relaxing stay. We would highly recommend it.
A clean, fresh, warm, very well run establishment with the friendliest and most professional of staff. Excellent well kept cellar and excellent food. Genuinely dog friendly. To stay at The Stag, is to feel comfortable and welcome. I highly recommend The Stag Hotel.
We have stayed several times, twice this year so far. The Crown Manor is a go to hotel for us for a little break as we love the New Forest and Lyndhurst in particular. The hotel ticks all the boxes for us in terms of location, comfort and the lovely staff.
The location of the hotel is excellent, a 5 minute walk into the centre of Lyndhurst in the New Forest with shops and restaurants. Hotel is peaceful and parking is easy on the street outside. Room was immaculate. Would certainly stay again.
The location was fabulous, within easy walking distance from Lyndhurst and The New Forest. There were paths from the property directly into the forest and horses and deer were often seen on those walks. The breakfast was lovely.
The staff were friendly and very good.
All our needs were catered for. Breakfast as excellent.
The position of the Hotel was excellent and within walking distance of Lyndhurst
