Great location for exploring central Lake District. Lots of interesting shops, bars - even Michelin starred restaurant which was stunning. Lake shore and beaches are lovely - east to hire SUP, canoes, kayak,motor boats.

Ambleside is a good starting point for day trips around the lakes. There are plenty of restaurants including a Michelin restaurant...advance booking advised. There is a waterfall 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Pubs with live music most evenings. Windermere is only about 7 minutes by car or half an hour walk.Martin - 10Scored 10

The area itself is amazing, loads of pubs, bars and restaurants around all offering various meals, I would book in advance for most of them to avoid disappointment. Pitch & putt really good or mini golf for families. plenty of walks around and further if you desire. regular bus service to other areas of the lakes.Carol - 10Scored 10

We were in one of the dog friendly rooms which was in an annex at the back of the lodge and just perfect for having a dog as we didn’t need to traipse through the B&B when we needed to let the dog out. The location is perfect for the town centre and has free parking. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again
