What a treat to stay at this amazing place in the quaint village of Garai, just above the larger town of Durango. Staff is incredible (thanks to Olatz for warm welcome and Irune for delicious breakfast and excellent tips on sites in the area!). Rooms are very cozy, we had amazing views of the mountains. The entire hotel is decorated so tastefully. We highly recommend the Herriko restaurant in town, a short stroll from hotel. Garai is an excellent base to explore the Basque region.

What a gem in a beautiful.little town with exceptional host and hostess.This is my second tome staying here and hope to be back again.It is only an hour for ferry in Bilbao.So very easy.It is located amongst beautiful buildings and a fabulous old church.The apartments are ultra modern and very clean and comfortable.Breakfast is also excellent.

I loved the big, comfortable rooms including the huge bathrooms. The balcony was great. The food was exceptional and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who were so kind to me and my dog. A beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings and for a great price.

The place is really nice, quiet and and with very nice views. Everything is new, comfortable and very well equipped. The breakfasts are homemade and delicious, and Karmele is the best hostess I have ever had. Super friendly, helpful, willing to help with whatever one may need.
