It was an exceptional cultural experience in an authentic Japanese place. The hotel offers rooms in a traditional style, while we also enjoyed wearing national yukata dresses and taking onsen baths, which are included. We have heard a lot about excellent Japanese service and now we indeed experienced it. The personnel approaches each customer with personal touch and satisfies individual needs. Great value for money. Our room was huge! Easily at least 4x bigger than most Japanese hotel rooms. The ensuite private onsen was a delightful experience, and it took away our aches and pains from the snowy trek to the monkeys. The halfboard meals were fantastic as well. The breakfast spread was buffet restaurant level. We were given a free round trip ride to the Snow Monkey Park and then to train station after checkout, for which we were very much grateful. Great staff, topnotch hospitality. Highly recommended!

Everything!! The room was stunning with its private onsen where we could customize the water temperature while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views. The staff went above and beyond with their exceptional kindness and attentiveness. A special mention goes to the onsen lady! It was a pleasure communicating with her despite language barriers. Overall ,We had a very pleasant stay.The hotel was clean, comfortable and well-located. The staff were friendly and helpful throghout our visit.The owner was super nice and pick us up and drop us off personally. The breafast was delicious and exceeded my expectations .I especially enjoyed the freshly salad and seasonal vegetables.The coffee was excellent too.A great way to start the day. The onsen was amazing.

This ryokan and the hospitality is something special! It was beyond amazing, and the best experience we had during our 21-day trip in Japan. We felt right at home from the beginning, even though Maki told us she was worried we would not be comfortable seeing its a traditional Japanese house. On the contrary; everything is well thought of and very stylish. You get to experience a real Japanese inn in a relaxed manner. We didn’t have any experience with traditional ryokans, and Maki kindly thought us the ways of putting on a yukata, enjoying a kaiseki meal and using an onsen. She and her mom are beyond kind and caring, and provide you with everything you need (i.e. they send us on our hike with drinks and a bear-bell). The food is truly amazing (and there is a lot!!!) and Maki takes time to explain the origin of the products/dishes and a lot of the food is seasonal and resourced locally. The room was beautiful, with a spectacular view and nice comfy places to sit. The futon beds were very comfortable and on top of that everything was very tidy and clean. We are so thankful we got this opportunity and feel blessed we met them and cute Fukumaki and Kenta and will keep the memories we made here forever in our hearts. WE WILL BE BACK!
