This place is literally an island of peace and refinement. Staff at the reception is polite and efficient. The layout, garden, and pool are elegant. Rooms are big and with all amenities you might expect from a 5 star hotel. The restaurant deserves a special mention for the quality of the food and the attentive and kind service. I loved my stay at the Thinnai (and Jaffna overall, it’s a shame that people skip this place). There was a small miscommunication about take away breakfast, but they sincerely apologised and made up for it with a surprise from the kitchen. Breakfast is also very nice and I definitely recommend the Odiyal Kool which tasted amazing!

The property was stylish and the location was very central, within walking distance of the public library, clock tower and market. Staff were absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

Great location for transportation, services and amenities. Still in a quiet neighborhood. Cleanest new building with a cool breeze from the trees around. More than enough personnel for security, maintenance etc. I rented a small single room, but there are bigger a/c rooms with plenty of common space to accommodate groups.
