I loved this place! I stayed for 5 days. It was clean, and the pool was great. I ate at their restaurant once, and the food was very good. I needed to work online, and they made sure I had a good internet connection. It wasn’t super strong (nowhere in Sri Lanka is), but for the country, it was quite good and sufficient for working. I also had fresh water every day and was pleasantly surprised by the hot water pressure in the shower. Even though there weren’t many mosquitoes, they still provided an anti-mosquito product, which was a nice touch. But the best part? The owners. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. Thank you so much!

I was travelling this part of my holiday alone and spent Christmas with Suriya and his wife Sunathra at their homestay. I felt so at home and cared for. They really made an effort to celebrate Christmas with me. We had a wonderful meal together and spent the evening together sharing stories. I bought his children some treats for Christmas and the next day they each presented me with a wonderful handmade Christmas card. This was so unexpected and almost bought me to tears. Thank you so much Nethushi, Sarasi and Thisara. Suriya is very knowledgeable of the local area and is happy to suggest activities and or amazing spots to visit locally. I had my own tuk tuk so visited a few he suggested myself but I also had Suriya take me to Dambulla and Polonnaruwa. This was for a very reasonable price. We saw wild elephants twice on our return trip which was a real bonus I have read some previous reviews and I think people confuse his willingness to help and genuinely ensure you have an amazing time as him trying to push you to do activities. He is more than happy for you to do your own thing he just wants to make sure he is of service in any way he can be to ensure you have the best possible experience in his home town. Lastly I highly recommend you have Sunathra cook you a meal. I ate out once for dinner and lunch the rest of the meals over my three night stay I ate Sunathras food. Every meal was different and delicious. I was offered a choice of protein, multiple side dishes in portions I could never finish. A great introduction to Sri Lankan hospitality and Suriya, Sunathra and family set the bar extremely high. Rooms: The deluxe AC rooms have a beautiful view of Sigiriya and their own private area at the rear of the property. These had sold out by the time I booked. The non AC room I booked was comfortable and the trees in the garden kept it cool during the day and sleeping at night with the fan on was fine. I had just come from the UK winter.

I definitely love this place! Comfortable large huts surrounded by nature. Little animals like birds, squirrels all around. Quiet place, delicious breakfast, helpful staff. The owner helped us to arrange Tuk tuk, jeep safari to Huluru. Fully recommended to nature lovers.

The family were excellent hosts and looked after me as if a family member. Had an altercation with monkey at Lion Rock, clawed my hand, hospital for injections and treatment. Away 4hrs host Rohan and tuk driver Nipun insisted on staying with me, so much appreciated.

Lal the owner is simply wonderful. He is so welcoming and helpful, his knowledge of the area is great as he has grown up there and so can organise any activity and give you lots of recommendations. We really felt like part of the family! He was more than happy to drop us off on his motorbike at 5am for the sunrise walk! Nalani is a master in the kitchen and was kind enough to share her recipes and techniques with us, and even got us chopping veggies and scraping out coconuts for the sambals. Make sure you come hungry as every meal is a real feast!! An amazing experience that we can't recommend enough, we can't wait to come back for more food!
