Situated in Aswan, Meshra Katto offers beachfront accommodation 23 km from Aga Khan Mausoleum and features various facilities, such as a private beach area, a garden and a bar. We absolutely loved the peaceful and quiet location and the gorgeous view especially on the rooftop terrace. Breakfast or shay on the terrace was incredible. The service was warm and hospitable. We got answers to all our tourism questions and appreciated the assistance to arrange our early morning airport transfer.

Located in the Nubian Desert on the banks of the Nile, opposite Elephantine Island, Sofitel Legend Old Cataract offers elegant rooms and suites. It features outdoor and indoor pools. We were very excited to stay at the hotel given its impressive history. We were blown away by how beautiful it is. You feel like you have stepped back into the Victorian-era with the archaeologists and famous guests who have stayed at the hotel. You can also tour Agatha Christie's / Winston Churchill's rooms for free (if they are not occupied by guests). Our room was spacious, clean, modern, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The room was cleaned daily and the staff always ensured we had plenty of water. The hotel has stunning views of the Nile and Elephantine Island from basically anywhere on the property. Since it's located right on the Nile, we found it very easy to hop on to a felucca or boat to take us around. There are plenty of taxis around on the road-side of the hotel too. There is also an ATM on site, which is helpful. There is a very helpful concierge on site to help arrange tours if needed. We enjoyed delicious dinners at all of the restaurants at the hotel, including the stunning 1902 restaurant. Breakfast was also fantastic - diverse and plentiful. The kitchen can also make you lunch boxes to take away with you on your daily adventures. We toasted our days exploring Aswan at the gorgeous bar. The service from each staff member we encountered was just outstanding - everyone was warm, friendly, attentive, helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We enjoyed watching the sunset while swimming in the pool, and we even managed to fit in some exercise at the modern and well-equipped gym. We ended up having to stay an extra night because a sandstorm prevented us from catching our flight to Cairo - the staff were so helpful and even upgraded our room for free. We highly recommend this hotel and cannot wait to return!

Everyone we met at the hotel were very kind and helpful. They arranged our transpotations between the airport and the hotel. The breakfast was very good! It was 20 minutes walk to Abu Simbel. We were able to get the tickets of sound and light show at the hotel. We got the recomendation of the restaurant for dinner. The next day we went to see the sunrise. Boasting lake views, Relaxation, fresh air, and a direct view of the Nile offers accommodation with free bikes and a balcony, around 26 km from Aga Khan Mausoleum. The outside was very ugly but the inside was very modern. I loved the TV and the wi-fi was AMAZING😁 plenty of space and beds. The view is amazing! Dislike: the owner can improve the cleaning.

Set in Abu Simbel, 1.4 km from Abu Simbel Temples, Sama Stars Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Sama Stars Hotel seems to be a reasonably new hotel and the owner/manager, Weal, put a lot of energy into making my stay enjoyable from start to finish. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is excellent value for money. The breakfast was more than I could eat and the dinners (extra cost) were very good also. The rooms are clean and tidy but most important for me, the beds was very comfortable (not hard) and the pillows and bed linen are good quality. The shower provides plenty of hot water for my longer than average showers. People who know how noisy Cairo is, will be surprised by how quiet it is around Sama Stars. The 3 night stay gave me time to visit the Abu Simbel Temples, both during the day and in the evening for the Sound an Light Show. At my request, the hotel arranged a 4x4 trip to to see the 3 Amada site temples and the 3 Wadi Sabua temples. Sometimes you have a special moment on holiday that you cherish forever. For me, the Amada-Wadi Sabua trip is one of those. I am very grateful to Weal for organising it.
