The Sri Lankan couple that operates the hotel are some of the most kind, generous, and helpful people I’ve met. The homemade meals are generously portioned and served with love. They helped me arrange tours to the nearby Minneriya National Park and also helped with scooter rental. When I had an accident with the scooter, they were attentive and understanding. But best of all, the value you get for your money is incredible. The hotel rooms are spacious, the pool is nice, and the location is just 20 minutes drive from all the tourist activities in the area.

I was travelling this part of my holiday alone and spent Christmas with Suriya and his wife Sunathra at their homestay. I felt so at home and cared for. They really made an effort to celebrate Christmas with me. We had a wonderful meal together and spent the evening together sharing stories. I bought his children some treats for Christmas and the next day they each presented me with a wonderful handmade Christmas card. This was so unexpected and almost bought me to tears. Thank you so much Nethushi, Sarasi and Thisara. Suriya is very knowledgeable of the local area and is happy to suggest activities and or amazing spots to visit locally. I had my own tuk tuk so visited a few he suggested myself but I also had Suriya take me to Dambulla and Polonnaruwa. This was for a very reasonable price. We saw wild elephants twice on our return trip which was a real bonus I have read some previous reviews and I think people confuse his willingness to help and genuinely ensure you have an amazing time as him trying to push you to do activities. He is more than happy for you to do your own thing he just wants to make sure he is of service in any way he can be to ensure you have the best possible experience in his home town. Lastly I highly recommend you have Sunathra cook you a meal. I ate out once for dinner and lunch the rest of the meals over my three night stay I ate Sunathras food. Every meal was different and delicious. I was offered a choice of protein, multiple side dishes in portions I could never finish. A great introduction to Sri Lankan hospitality and Suriya, Sunathra and family set the bar extremely high. Rooms: The deluxe AC rooms have a beautiful view of Sigiriya and their own private area at the rear of the property. These had sold out by the time I booked. The non AC room I booked was comfortable and the trees in the garden kept it cool during the day and sleeping at night with the fan on was fine. I had just come from the UK winter.

The service was top-notch, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth, the views were simply breathtaking, and every little detail added a touch of magic to our stay.

Anu and his wife was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and cosy. We had delicious home made dinner and breakfast what we finished eating in lunch time because of the size of it.

Super friendly, nice and helpful with everything. He took me and a couple on a tour to Polonnaruwa, and we had a chance to talk about the Sri Lanka day to day life, the country's history and current reality. Amazing talks. On the way from Polonnaruwa we had an superb lunch on a very local restaurant (one would never find it online), where he had a really tasty rice and curry. One of the best I had in Sri Lanka! The property is very beautiful, with beautiful views from the Lion Rock, and from my balcony I could see some sweet squirrels, hornbils and monkeys! Amazing experience and place to relax. Totally recommend. The room is quite comfortable and you get to hear the nature sounds during the night - which I found quite interesting - hence using ear plugs make it more comfortable to sleep 😉 You can walk to the center with all restaurants and bars, within a 20 minute walking, which I really enjoyed.

We stayed here for 2 night. It was amazing. Family is friendly and welcoming. They offer delicious breakfast, around 7 different kinds of dishes + tea and coffee. This place is in a walking distance to Sigiriya rock.
