Featuring a garden and views of garden, Mailagama Cinnamon Residence is a recently renovated guest house set in Kataragama, 21 km from Situlpawwa. This was our second visit to Mailagama Cinnamon Residence and we were truly happy to see again the owners of the hotel, Indira and her husband. The hotel is located in a picturesque place among green rice fields. We loved walking around the area - there are large lakes nearby, and there are few people around, but an incredible number of peacocks. A real kingdom of peacocks. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony with a great view. There was also a big shared terrace to work online or to do yoga. The fans helped to cope with the heat, which was important for us. We really liked the Srilankan food at the hotel - delicious and served with great elegance. Manager Inbaraj was always attentive and helped us with any questions. On his advice, we visited two temples - Rock Temple where you can see dozens of funny monkeys and Kataragama Maha Devalaya. Both places are interesting and atmospheric, especially the latter, which is famous for its festivals throughout the country. We hope to come back here next year to see the beauty of the nature and to feel the special friendly atmosphere.

We stayed in a *Deluxe Double Room with breathtaking lake views* and woke up to peacocks dancing on the lawn. The staff, ***especially Anne (owner) and Amal, were exceptional,they arranged a safari to Yala Block 6 (just 10 mins away!) where we spotted elephants and leopards. The **food was a highlight**: authentic Sri Lankan curries and Western options, all served in an open-air dining area. Don’t miss the **sunset boat ride on the lake**—pure magic! Clean, spacious rooms and a serene pool sealed our perfect stay. We’ll be back!"

Featuring lake views, Sam's Stay Buduruwagala provides accommodation with terrace, around 39 km from Demodara Nine Arch Bridge. The room was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were delightful, extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely return.

Set in Monaragala, 45 km from Buduruwagala Temple, The Grand Pearl Resort offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. After a long day of travelling from Colombo to Monaragala i arrived late at night at the Grand Pearl Resort. The host was very nice and waited for me to let me check in (at 23:30) and also provided the help for arranging a tuktuk out of Monaragala town. The resort was the perfect overnight stay for myself to relax and continue my travels. Good breakfast and very helpful people, comfortable rooms.
