I don’t even know where to begin. Will start with service and staff- amazing. So kind, friendly, helpful. Food - amazing, dinner buffet was great. Rooms were clean comfortable and had everything you need. Pool was clean, large and perfect. Value is AMAZING! We did the safari, 4 hours, by ourselves. I could not believe the price. In fact, the whole two day stay there is what we spend on a meal out at home in Bangkok. Just fantastic. And then we had a change of plans that meant we could not stay the extra night we booked. They were wonderful and didn’t charge us. In December! The busiest time of the year. Again, just stay here!

We loved the quiet location and that it is family run. The room is so lovely, clean and comfortable. Mango Tree House organized two unforgettable safari trips. On the full day of safari a lovely breakfast and lunch were packed up for us. Owners are so kind and helpful. Also, the food is the best food we’ve had this whole trip! Incredible vegetarian Sri Lankan food- we are worried we will never find curry that tastes as good again!

The family was very nice and caring. They took good care about every wish we had, gave us dinner and arranged a safari. The safari and our driver was good! He cared for us and made us see a lot of elephants. The facility were nice, of course it’s in the landslide, so keep that in mind. Peacocks in the garden, a river, and lots of bats at night flying over us, which we liked a lot. Cozy veranda too!

Set in Udawalawe, 20 km from Udawalawe National Park, Vimanra Udawalawa offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Vimanra resort was an oasis of beauty, just outside of Udawalawe town. It is perhaps the nicest place our family of five has stayed in, made accessible by its reasonable prices. We really loved the huge family room, and the triple room was also well appointed. There are two big highlights to this property. The first is the host, who was very helpful in arranging a great safari and onward transportation for a reasonable price, and who added touches of luxury to the meals and rooms. The second is the wonderful property, with an infinity pool surrounded by trees where birds play, and looks out to the river beyond. The porch was the ideal spot to linger during a meal to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our kids were disappointed that our stay wasn't longer! The rooms had everything we needed for a great sleep. The location away from the main road meant that it was peaceful and quiet, and we had no reason to go to town because we ate the delicious food at Vimanra. Highly recommended.

Ibis is located in Udawalawe and features a pool with a view and garden views. A super friendly and helpful host, who made us really welcome. The pool was a great bonus - just what we needed after a long days travel. Room was very large, very comfortable and had great facilities. We even had our evening meal here at a reasonable cost. Very good accommodation - would definitely stay again if I was in the area. They do their own safari tours but we had already booked one with a different company prior to arrival, so didn't get the chance to go with them.

The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We did the safari at the hotel and it was amazing. Our driver was very good and we saw a lot of elephants up close. Breakfast and dinner were both good. Near a beautiful river, designed with the environment in mind. Highly recommended for a few days stay.

One of the best home stays I have ever been to in Sri Lanka!! The family is so kind and careing, the food is amazing and the place is just beautiful with it's quite location in nature, right next to a calm river, very quite and safe neighbourhood and in walking distance to Udawalawe City (though we didn't really feel like leaving this place as there is everything you need there :) The Safari with Pasindu was also a Highlight (I did one before but this one was the best as his knowledge and thoughtfulnes with planning the tour as well a the respect for the animals is exceptional!)

We just stayed with the family at Waraka for 2 nights and it has been amazing. A beautiful place, great food and lovely people. There is so much love, care and attention. A big thanks to the fantastic staff!!

Featuring garden views, Banana Shade Cottage features accommodation with a garden and a terrace, around 17 km from Udawalawe National Park. This place was a little slice of Sri Lankan heaven! We arrived on their doorstep last minute (our other booking was apparently full) to be met by the warmest sisterly reception! The accommodation was amazing, extremely clean, best beds we have slept in so far and the surroundings are tranquil. Nothing was too much for the family from cooking us delicious dinners and breakfasts, arranging our safari with a lovely guide, doing our washing and even taking us down to the local river. They are a new place so not so many reviews yet but if you book here you will not be disappointed.
