Served in the villa and in the restaurant area. The food was the best we’d had in Sri Lanka.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Mailagama Cinnamon Residence is a recently renovated guest house set in Kataragama, 21 km from Situlpawwa. This was our second visit to Mailagama Cinnamon Residence and we were truly happy to see again the owners of the hotel, Indira and her husband. The hotel is located in a picturesque place among green rice fields. We loved walking around the area - there are large lakes nearby, and there are few people around, but an incredible number of peacocks. A real kingdom of peacocks. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony with a great view. There was also a big shared terrace to work online or to do yoga. The fans helped to cope with the heat, which was important for us. We really liked the Srilankan food at the hotel - delicious and served with great elegance. Manager Inbaraj was always attentive and helped us with any questions. On his advice, we visited two temples - Rock Temple where you can see dozens of funny monkeys and Kataragama Maha Devalaya. Both places are interesting and atmospheric, especially the latter, which is famous for its festivals throughout the country. We hope to come back here next year to see the beauty of the nature and to feel the special friendly atmosphere.

We stayed in a *Deluxe Double Room with breathtaking lake views* and woke up to peacocks dancing on the lawn. The staff, ***especially Anne (owner) and Amal, were exceptional,they arranged a safari to Yala Block 6 (just 10 mins away!) where we spotted elephants and leopards. The **food was a highlight**: authentic Sri Lankan curries and Western options, all served in an open-air dining area. Don’t miss the **sunset boat ride on the lake**—pure magic! Clean, spacious rooms and a serene pool sealed our perfect stay. We’ll be back!"

Really amazing service and hospitable staff! Everyone there was very accommodating and kind and they made me feel at home. The facilities was also clean and convenient. Overall I felt well taken care of during my stay.

Situated 2.9 km from Tissa Wewa, New Vilard offers a garden, and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. We stayed 1 night here before our safari in Yala. The owners kindly helped us organise our safari and when we got back they had a delicious and very generously sized breakfast waiting for us. Would recommend this place to all.

Set within 2.2 km of Tissa Wewa and 27 km of Bundala Bird Sanctuary in Tissamaharama, Amazon Cabanas provides accommodation with seating area. We had an amazing stay at Amazon Cabanas. The hosts were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. We organised a safari with the owner Gayan as our guide, he was so passionate and excited about the animals and was extremely experienced. Such a peaceful and well maintained bungalow too, we wish we could have stayed longer!

Offering a restaurant and free bikes, MOON LIGHT Guest House is located just 1.1 km from the Tissamaharama Bus Station and 3.2 km from the beautiful Tissa Lake. I think this was definitely the best value going around. We contacted Moon light by WhatsApp and they organized a car from Ella for us and we detoured past Diyaluma Falls (well worth it to dip), the accom is excellent, great aircon, hammocks. We ate lunch on arrival, dinner & lunch after the safari at the accom and it was plentiful & delicious. We left for the safari at 4:45 and got back at midday, so it’s enough time to do the half day I think. We saw a leopard running along a branch, elephants and many other animals. We then had a car (also organized by Moon light) ready after lunch to drive us to Aragum Bay. Couldn’t have been more seemless. With the park entry, jeep, meals, accom, and long transfers it still cost less than I saw some day tours advertised at. Highly recommend!

Everything was exceptional. The room was unlike any other hotel in recent memory. Equipped with top tier tech and unrivaled design. The food and chef were exceptional. The service was outstanding. The location was unique and exciting. The staff including manger were very accommodating of requests and the spa was also top notch.
