I can only speak highly of Hostel Solar and the service. We were in contact before our arrival. In addition, they organized transport from the airport for us. Everything went perfectly. Breakfast excellent and prepared on the terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains. The location of the facility is great. We came to Arequipa at the worst possible moment of the protests and the closure of the city. The Hostel team supported us and was very helpful even when we had to leave the place quickly to go to another airport to get back to Europe.

Very nice restaurant with variety of food and fair prices. The food was delicious. The facilities are clean and good preserved. The rooms are spacious with amazing views. We would come back.

You'll need a taxi/Uber to get to the historic center, but it's not far. The apartment itself is a little bit smaller than I expected from the photos, but good enough for 2 people. Note that there were no shampoo etc provided as indicated on the photos. We used the laundry and gym facilities. Laundry was a bit of a hassle because you need to ask the concierge for the time etc., but overall it's convenient to have this possibility (just needs some planning). The property manager is very responsive on the Booking app and the people on site are very friendly and helpful.

One of the nicest hotels I've been to away from the coastal areas of Peru. Brand new hotel with a lovely interior, spacious rooms. Clean, comfortable, breakfast was delicious and served with a great view of the surrounding mountains and hills.

Marlon's House Arequipa is situated in the Historical Center district of Arequipa, 2.1 km from Umacollo Stadium, 2.8 km from Melgar Stadium and less than 1 km from Arequipa Main Square. Everything!! This hostel was bar far the nicest, most comfortable welcoming clean comfy hostel that we have been in to date ( travelling for 3 months) it's like they have thought of everything. Like a shelf in the bathroom, towel hooks, a cupboard, table and chairs in the room. Tea and coffee on hand all day ( no milk though lol, I'm your average tea with milk kinda person). The kitchen was super cute and tiny, and not to be taken for granted. This is in their personal space but you are allowed to use. The rooftop had fab view. A settee on the landing, so comfy. Marlon and his staff bend over backwards to be so helpful. Our room even had a bath..just saying. A couple of the other rooms may appear a little dark, but don't be put off. So so comfy. Very sorry to leave after 6 days. Still, we went Marlons place in Puno, and are as equally happy.
