He was very nice and recommended us to a great restaurant in the town as well as informed us about onsen opening hours and more. We were also offered tea, some local sweets, and a cup of coffee in the morning. The accommodation was clean and comfy, with kotatsu in the room. We stayed in a Japanese style room that was prepared for the night during dinner. We were blown away by the dedication and enthusiasm of explaining the intricacies of the Japanese culture by the staff. This continued throughout the high end Kaiseki multi-course dinner.
