A calm place on a hill with views across the tree tops to Yoshino. Mrs Terashima is a brilliant cook and runs a cafe of great charm. Beautiful gluten free vegetarian meals were prepared for me. I recommend taking the opportunity to have dinner cooked by her. You may attend morning prayers. This opportunity I recommend taking. It was great value for money, my friend and I stayed the night and had the place to ourselves where we could cook, watch movies, play games. It had heaters, a sitting kotatsu table, an and hot water bottles to keep warm. The aesthetics also offered a warm and comfortable feel. Overlooking the mountains and Yoshino river, the property was beautiful and relaxing. Tastefully furnished with everything necessary to stay, cook & wash. It is very near a supermarket. The train station is about 8min walk away. Train ride to Yoshino is about 4min (2 stops). There were lots of great spaces to relax and hang out. The cabins are beautifully done in a traditional style. The kitchen was fully kitted out with everything you need to grill, bbq, hotpot or whatever you like to cook. Yoshino was a great base to explore local shrines, hiking paths, sake breweries and villages. Our host was exceptional in proving recommendations about the local area and even helped us make a booking for Uda’s amazing soba restaurant.
