Hotels near Toowoomba City Aerodrome - TWB, Toowoomba

We enjoyed the beautiful parks and gardens, the historic buildings in the city of Toowoomba, the Cobb & Co Museum. We also liked the short drive to Crows Nest National Park with its eucalypt forest and granite boulders. Breakfast at Cafe Valetta was excellent! Happy to recommend Toowoomba as a good holiday destination.

Our booking was a late choice on a weekend that was heavily booked for the area. Our original booking had not been notified we needed a ground floor apartment so we had to cancel it. Toowoomba Hospital Apartments was expensive for what we got..It was old and had limited hot water. At $190 for the night I felt it was too expensive for what we got.. In its defence it was clean and we were notified how to access key from the safe.

The shower in the ablutions block was a bit low in height for someone as tall as me, but it certainly had the pressure they warn you about and was hot! I don't need air cond in Toowoomba's climate, some might find that trying- I'd recommend seeing if there were classier cabins there if you need this facility. Some of the doors in the budget room were a tad outdated and stuck a bit, but, hey, at $100 a night, you can't be too picky. Look, the product is as advertised; a budget room; and f thats your expectation, it ticks many boxes other in this bracket don't.

Staff at reception fantastic, room older but clean and nice, only complaint was ppl in room next door either 220 or 222 had tv blaring all night, went in and out of room slamming door over 20 times, went to there car atleast 15 times slamming car doors and boot until I had enough at 4.30am when after no sleep at all I left because it was a disgrace the noise and nothing being done, no phone in room to ask reception to ask them to atleast back it off a bit, but was a complete waste of money as I was so tired and left more tired and $$$ out of pocket and no sleep.

This trip was a stopover after medical appointments within the City, and choosing to stay so close to the Grand Central Shopping Centre was an added bonus. Toowoomba has a lot to offer visitors and tourists alike, but not for us this time around, as shopping was on top of our list, and we were not diappointed with the variety of quality stores in the City.

Toowoomba is a great destination for a short getaway in Spring. The lead up to the Carnival of Flowers a perfect time to visit as the gardens are blooming and it is before the crowds. Queens Park, Picnic Point, Laurel Bank Park and Japanese Gardens are all in full bloom. A visit to Highfields and The Chocolate Shop was worth the short drive north. Lovely staff, tasty food and home made chocolate plus specialty shops on the green. Time to indulge. Back to the Ambassador hotel via Picnic Point and afternoon tea at the Restaurant looking out over the treetops then a visit to the Range Antiques.
