Shalakwe Hills-Inn Guesthouse Kasane is a recently renovated guest house in Kasane, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. It felt just like being at home….Gloria and her wonderful staff went out of their way to make my stay very relaxing and enjoyable! Gloria was the perfect tour guide and made arrangements for me to go to Victoria Falls, Sunset River Cruise, Chobe National Park, Villages Tour and more! She also recommended restaurants in the area, and provided transportation herself. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Shalakwe Hills!!

Situated within 2.4 km of Baobab Prison Tree Kasane and 4.2 km of Sedudu Gate Chobe National Park in Kasane, Global Guest House provides accommodation with seating area. We only spent two days in Botswana, and if you're also coming to visit Chobe National Park for a wildlife experience, this is a great place to stay. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, just about 10 minutes from the boat cruise departure point. The area is peaceful, with stable water and electricity supply. The front desk staff were also very kind and helpful—they helped us arrange a ride to the airport. I really enjoyed staying here, and I truly love Botswana.

We were truly grateful as we had to book another game drive the day we were checking out due to heavy rainfall. We hardly saw any animals that day. So we were given a place to keep our bags and relax until the time the game drive was due around 2pm. I would honestly recommend anyone to book here it is really a lovely place and value for money. Thank you once again for your kindness. Johannes.

Featuring free WiFi, private parking and a garden, the recently renovated property of Punkinheads Guesthouse, offers accommodation in Kasane, 2 km from Mowana Golf Course and 3.2 km from Baobab Prison... Everything. We have been travelling for 2 years and hardly ever do we give 10/10 as there’s always something that could be better. Not here!! Secure parking - always very important for our motorbikes. Room - cannot fault it. Our own little home from home. Every detail has been thought about as if the room has been lived in by the owners, not just turned into a guest house. The bed was super comfortable and large, comfy armchairs, good working desk, fabulous wardrobe and storage including hangers!! There was also a patio where we could sit outside. Loads and loads of power sockets all round the room and in convenient places. We had no trouble charging anything at all. Bathroom was beautiful and the shower fantastic. All toiletries provided and super thick towels. Breakfast was amazing. Cooked to order and hot! Lumba is a lovely person and fabulous host. She couldn’t do enough for us and looked after us extremely well. We felt like a part of the family. We extended our stay and stayed for five nights in the end. Such a wonderful place.
Kasane is the gateway to Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls is one hour away. After visiting large cities, Kasane was relaxing and easy to maneuver. So much so, that I mistakenly ended up at the Zambia gate and had to explain myself. I was surprised that there weren’t more touristy souvenirs in the stores. There are plenty of vendors though on the Main Street. I coordinated game drive, sunset cruise and round trip ride to Victoria Falls, through Iswiza Travel Agency. They were very helpful. For the game drive, I opted for a solo drive, and Sinka, my guide was worth the extra that I paid. I ate cheaply at local chain restaurants )pizza, chicken) and went to a local grocery store.
The river cruise on the Chobe was the best - lovely views, good sightings! Secondly, a big treat was to walk across the Gazangula bridge where 4 countries meet (Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. A sight i will never forget!
Kasane is a good place to stay if you want to visit the incredible Chobe national park. It is a very small town, rather a village, with a few restaurants and supermarkets. The town itself is perhaps not very charming but the tours provided here are excellent and you can travel individually and book the tours. There are some luxurious lodges by the river as well as cheaper options in town.
Cruising the river was awesome, we went twice and the second time we saw the elephant swimming over to the Island too feed on the grass, it was an amazing sight that we will never forget. We took an organized tour and had lunch at an amazing resort
It was easy to get around and we were able to get everything we needed. The boat trip on the Chobe River was unforgettable with the river crossing of the elephants and the sun going down! We also visit the Chobe Game Reserve and were able to see many lions, Kudu, impalas and a leopard!!! We did the early morning game drive and visitors must remember to dress warmly! It is lovely on the open vehicles, but it is very cold!!!! We would love to visit again, but most of the roads are in a terrible condition.
Kasane is a convenient gateway for Chobe safaris, but in terms of accommodation, the variety is quite limited and not as refined as what you'll find in nearby destinations. Personally, I would prefer staying in Livingstone and doing a day trip to Kasane, as it offers a wider range of quality stays and overall a more well-rounded experience.
