Such an oasis after the long journey on the bus from Kasane. The garden is so relaxing, wifi working even at the pool, I had a wonderful local dish (pounded beef), the staff is very nice and the free shuttle to the airport is amazing. You feel well taken care of.
The rooms are big, beds comfortable, breakfast is plenty. It's a perfect place to stay before your safari (if you don't require luxury).

After 20 days in a rooftent, the Acacia Cottage was like paradise. We have booked 3 nights and finally we spend an extra night.
The bed was big and comfy. The kitchen had everything we need, the bathroom was also big, and the pool, bbq and terrace made our stay a great highlight from our trip.
Tebla was an excellent host, who help us to arrange some activities in Maun and also was our guide on a day trip in Moremi.
Lucky the dog was a wonderful companion at our break times in the terrace.

Had a car accident getting in to Maun. Staff friendly and accommodating and made a difficult situation easier. A big shout out to Andrew, and Revelation, who even helped out with their personal airtime.

We did not stay for long, but for stocking up the twon a good amount of shops and chain stores you may also know from South Africa. Unfortunately, the croc farms seems to have closed down, the local game park was closed for rehabilitation, and the museum was closed for the weekend.

For tourists going into the delta I recommend at least a day...
For tourists going into the delta I recommend at least a day in Maun to check out the local sights and meet some of the locals.
Botswana and Maun in particular see tourists come in and go straight out to the delta, so no added benefit to the residents just a constant flow of people leaving nothing of benefit to the local community
Stop over in a local hotel, there are plenty to suit every ones finances, interact with the local community there is lots to do and see

When you see distance to town center for hotels in Maun,...
When you see distance to town center for hotels in Maun, don't be deceived like I was. Town center is a ratty 4 way stop, nothing you want to be too close to. There are a few places in Maun that may be OK but you have to do your research and they are spread out.
