Located in Derio, within 11 km of Catedral de Santiago and 11 km of Arriaga Theatre, Hotel New Bilbao Airport provides accommodation with a bar and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free... Clean, modern room, large comfortable bed, large safe box. Free Shuttle bus from and to the airport is 5 minutes top BEWARE,if it is a busy hour (like our first flight of the day) you may have to book your seat. The hotel was very helpful on that and since the first shuttle of the day was full we were offered an off schedule shuttle bus just 10 minutes later. Breakfast starts at 4.45, but I didn't have any so I don't know what is offered.

Due to Europa League Final Bilbao was very busy including trying to get taxis and Uber. The host arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and taken to the apartment. They arranged a surprise for us as well Apartment was clean had all the mod cons we needed, they arranged food and drink as we were arriving late. Apartment is conveniently located east access to the airport, or to get a bus, the metro or an Uber into Bilbao.

I picked it for closeness to the airport, but not walkable for me. The young woman at the front desk was very helpful in arranging a wee hours taxi, giving directions and explaining that there never was AC upstairs. I enjoyed the friendly little cafeteria/bar (AC) and saw that the large terrace was popular with local people. i was in Basque territory-hopa.

Very easy walking;
Very easy walking; lots of cafes / bars / restaurants. Old town interesting but not very friendly and doesn't really have a 'vibe'. Interesting history and obviously works hard to maintain an image as a place to visit. Guggenheim amazing; Catedral de Santiago is beautiful from the outside but were not able to go in - expect it's fabulous inside. Weather variable and unpredictable.

We just stayed one night as we had to fly in the morning from Bilbao airport. We made a good choice: good service, kindness, clean and spacious room. Good breakfast for 7Eur, connection with public transportation to the airport in the morning.

A great neighbourhood to experience authentic life in another country and culture. Weekends are festive in the area with lots of activity at the local bars and cafes. Not many tourists around though... more elderly population noticeable.

We had a wonderful time around the frutiger stylish Bilbao, and most touristic points were within walking distance! Wonderful landscapes and Very friendly people, extremely hospitable. Top of the cream: delicious food!!!

The museums, the stadion, the nice riverside, the bulevards, the parks, the pintchos, the drinks, etc. The market hall and the dirrerent small squares were excellent surprises, and their were pop up shops as well. I have to reurtn this city to a football match with friends.

We had no preconceived idea of what Bilbao would be like. Only went to see the Guggenheim etc but was amazed at the cafes, bars, pastry shops, fashionable people, clothing stores. Would love to go back for another stay!
