It was very accesible from the airport. When you have a car it is perfect! The house was clean, comfy and perfect for a few nights. There was a bar close with a friendly barman where you can take your coffee in the morning

I arrived at about 5pm and felt welcome. The staff were very friendly and easy going. They room was clean and comfortable. I had the most amazing dinner and breakfast at the dining area reserved for inhouse guests. Best meal on my Santiago and the menu was amazing. If I had known my room had a third pull down bed, I would have invited my 2 new walking pals to stay.

Such a beautiful old building! Renovated tastefully and with so much care! Beautiful garden. We had a lovely room. Excellent menu and super friendly staff. Location is about 900 meters from the Camino, but there is a shortcut to get back on the Camino, so no problem.

Perfect place for stopover — clean, comfortable and welcoming. The room is pretty spacious and looks much better in reality than on photos. The hotel is freshly renovated, so everything is new. It also has a nice restaurant if you need something to bite, but note that vegetarian options are limited. Free shuttle to the airport worked like a charm, even at 5am! Special kudos to the staff, we felt welcomed from the first sight, easy to communicate and very polite!

Location and Transport

Located 8 miles (13 kilometres) from central Santiago de Compostela, in the town of Lavacolla, Santiago de Compostela Airport is northern Spain’s second-busiest airport. The best way to reach it is by the public bus service, which shuttles passengers between the airport and Plaza de Galicia in Santiago, making several stops along the way. The service departs every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, and the journey takes roughly 30 minutes. The minimum taxi fare is EUR 22, with the trip taking around 25 minutes.

There are several hotels within 5 miles (3 kilometres) of the airport, with most offering shuttle services. For many, Santiago de Compostela is the final destination on the famous Camino de Santiago pilgrimage – so the airport is often filled with walkers waiting to board their flight back home after a long and incredible journey.     The hotel was clean and comfortable but sorely lacking in...

    The hotel was clean and comfortable but sorely lacking in surface space and towel hangers in the bathroom. The AC wasn't working and so we had to open the windows at night and the street noise was very loud. We felt the buffet breakfast was overpriced and not well staffed and the front desk staff was not particularly helpful or friendly.

    O Pedrouzo is a small town on the way to El Camino De...

    O Pedrouzo is a small town on the way to El Camino De Compostela. We only needed to stay one night and that was enough. I'm not sure if there were much to do in town. We tried two restaurants El Bule and Galaicos that serve traditional Galician food. Prices were fair and food was good.

    Lavacolla is, I’m guessing, mainly used as a stop off before pilgrims continue their walk to Santiago. It’s also very close to the airport so useful for beginning and end of the Camino. The bar, A Concha, near the church and bandstand does good food!

    Pleasant and relaxing stop along the Camino trail (if one doesn't wish to stay in the major centers and towns). The hostel and hostel restaurant was relaxing and the food and drink was very good.

    Very small town but great for the night before arriving to Santiago de Compostela (if you are doing Saint James Way pilgrimage. It is also very close to the airport so you can use it as your base to visit Santiago as well as to go to the airport.

    O Pedrouzo was an easy place to stop along the Camino, with a lot of accommodations and restaurants. While the Camino does not run through the town, it is barely a 5 minute walk to enter the parts of town with accommodations.
