Although it was on a busy road, the homestay felt like a paradise with lush gardens dampening the noise. Help yourself to tea/coffee all day, great fish restaurant next door with good prices. Oceanfront, can watch the sunrise, breakfast included. The Rosella jam is amazing.

WiFi was working very good (they have few different ones). 2 swimming pools with view on the sea, and the breakfast was sensational. Hot water in the shower. An open wardrobe so you can easily store your stuff. We were there while they didn't have other guests so it was super nice.

Coconut Garden Beach Resort has a fitness centre, garden, a private beach area and terrace in Maumere. Among the various facilities are a bar and a range of water sports facilities. Coconut Garden was amazing. The room was wonderful, the open air bathroom one of a kind and huge! The staff was amazing, they also find more soft pillows for the bed and they clean and change towels every day. They have a super nice breakfast with fresh fruit and a dish of your choice and the food was delicious! They prepared us a breakfast box (not so rich though) to take to the volcano trip! The tour to Pulau Babi was very well organized and the snorkeling was great… not to mention the fresh grilled fish at Babi Island!!!! The pampered us in many ways and we spent there wonderful relaxing days.

Located in Nangalima, Anjo Maumere Hotel & Restaurant offers 1-star accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a bar. I was lucky to have picked Anjo for my visit to the Maumere area. It's a real gem, just 5 min from a quiet beach and 10 min from town. The service level of the entire staff is definitely up to western standards. The food in the restaurant was delicious and some of the fruits and vegetables come from the property's own garden. You might be tempted by some of the beach accommodations in the area, but the people I met in the restaurant and at a snorkeling tour who stayed closer to town all struggled with sleep due to traffic and karaoke parties, which seem common practice. They wished they had booked at Anjo. So, from one traveler to another: look no further.
