With Skukuza Indigenous Plants Nursery reachable in 8.5 km, aha Skukuza Safari Lodge offers accommodation, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and a garden. Ten stars is not enough, it was a perfect experience! - Wonderfully modernized hotel. - Top quality staff. - Very nice restaurant. Because it's in a camp, you can take sunrise tours and night tours, I would recommend staying more than 2 days. Another big advantage was the ability to make reservations through Booking.com, while other accommodations at the camp had to be booked through the official national park website.

Umkumbe Bush Lodge - Luxury Tented Camp is a recently renovated luxury tent in Sabi Sand Game Reserve, where guests can makes the most of its pool with a view, garden and bar. The luxury tents are perfect. The best part of the experience though was our guide, Charné Her knowledge, respect and enthusiasm for the animals is beyond compare. And our night tracker, Captivity, was also very skilled. He even spotted a chameleon in a bush in the dark !
Great park, amazing wildlife, fantastic experience. This being said, it is not a zoo! Don't expect to see all the existing animals in the parc! Some are easy to spot and other not so much, this is real animal kingdom and it's difficult to say who is watching who! Sun sets are also amazing with beautiful colors. Vegetation is small but dense(bushes). According to our guide it is easier to spot the animal during winter / dry season. Bushes hve less leaves making easier spotting animals and the animals gather around the water spot. During summer it is the opposite. Bushes are more dense and r'there is water everywhere making animal spotting more difficult. So an advice: winter is great for animals but of course temperature are lower so be prepared for low temperature and bring some warm clothes.
Located close skukuza gate of the Kruger national park. It was value for money. Friendly staff and helpful. Missed having a kitchen portion, as it was not self catering. Really enjoyed our stay there.
I saw loads of the animals I was looking for, Giraffe, Rhino, Impala, Crocodile, Elephants Kudu, and even a couple of Lions and 2 Leopards. Saw the Wild Dogs and Buffalo. I also played golf at Skukuza Golf Club which was a bit of fun. Everyone was friendly and we always felt safe.
Skukuza is a gem—especially if you want that mix of real bush experience without giving up comfort. It’s one of the bigger camps in Kruger, so there’s quite a bit going on, but it still manages to feel peaceful. Favourite spots: We really enjoyed the early morning drives around the park. We were self-driving but cleverly kept an eye on the guided tour operator vehicles, and that helped us catch most of the big sightings. It made the whole experience exciting and rewarding. Where we ate: We mostly self-catered but had a nice meal at the Kruger Hotel on our first evening after arriving past 7 pm. Most of our shopping was done at the Park Shop inside the camp—it was well-stocked and convenient. We even bought some game meat (like kudu and impala), which we braaied once we returned to Rixile. It was delicious and made for a real bush-style dinner. Getting around: Very easy. The camp is drivable and well signposted. If you’re self-driving (as most people are), Skukuza is a great central base for game drives, with plenty of routes and good animal sightings in every direction. Activities for groups of friends: Game drives are the highlight—we had some unforgettable ones. I'd also suggest booking a guided morning drive and, if you're feeling adventurous, trying different types of game meat like wildebeest, crocodile, or impala. It’s a fun experience to share as a group. Evenings back at camp were equally special—braaiing under the stars, swapping stories, and comparing notes on sightings. Skukuza offers just the right balance of wild and comfortable.
Everything was good. Game drive was fun . Senzo was our game driver/tour Guide, fun to travell with and we enjoyed the drive. Keep it up Senzo!!! you're the best, very intertaining and made sure we almost see all the Big 5. Senzo you deserve a Bells.
