The hosts Violeta and her husband are absolutely wonderful - it was cold and her husband had already started a wood fire to ensure I stayed warm, whereas she made me hot soup and brought in some sweets as a welcome. The apartment is not where it is listed but I have made a Google Maps entry now, so please search there and it should be easy to find. Location is not bad - about a kilometre outside the town of Vares, which is walkable. Only one point of improvement would be hot water in the boiler - it is sufficient for only one short shower, which is not ideal after a long day of walking.

I had an amazing experience at Apartments River! I got caught in a snowstorm in the mountains late in the evening, and continuing to drive felt too dangerous. I urgently needed a place to stay, and within 20 minutes of booking, I arrived and was warmly welcomed. The hosts greeted me with tea and even offered me something to eat, which was incredibly thoughtful and comforting after such a stressful situation. The hospitality was exceptional – the owners truly care about their guests. The room was cozy and comfortable, and I slept a solid eight hours without waking up, which rarely happens for me! It was also very convenient to have a private parking area. Thank you so much for your kindness and care. I highly recommend Apartments River to anyone looking for a safe, welcoming, and restful stay!

Everything was absolutely amazing! Amila, the host made us feel so welcome and has the kindest heart. She provided a large basket of fresh fruit, bottled water and coffee/tea facilities. The apartment was exceptional. Every detail made it feel like we were in a 5 star hotel. Cannot fault a thing. Great view of the pyramid also.
