We are currently staying in Karavostamo but fancied a change of scenery. I had holidayed in Greece for 21 of the 26 years together, but recently my partner died and I have found it difficult to settle this year. The Mesaktis Rooms were exactly what I needed. A beautiful tranquil setting, our terrace looked down on to a small lagoon. The owners gave me and my friend homemade lemonade and the most delicious homegrown figs, which we consumed whilst overlooking the lagoon, which was home to over 30 turtles! We were given bread with which to feed them. What a sight to feast your eyes on while we drank our delicious lemonade! The accommodation is rustic, it’s not luxurious, but it’s what we both loved about this place. There are tavernas beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to make a simple meal. There are tavernas maybe 5 minutes walk away, a mini market next door, and over the road there is probably the best beach on Ikaria - Mesaktis beach. At the far end is a lagoon in which you can see even more turtles! The hosts, as you may have picked up on, were so generous and warm. I miss the place, the kittens and Sadi the dog already. This has been the standout experience so far of this 3 week Greek island hopping trip. I absolutely loved it, and it helped me along in my grief journey. To the owners: thank you for your hospitality, for letting me leave the car on your premises after we had checked out, and sorry for taking the room key!

The owners were very kind, they allowed us to enter a little early and they greeted us sweetly, preparing wine, water, snacks and drinks. The apartment is also a wonderful building with a very tasteful design, with high ceilings. You have everything you need. The view is amazing. Since our time is limited, we could only stay for 1 night, but we would definitely like to come for a longer period of time. We highly recommend.

Everything was amazing!!!! The location and also the place ! The most popular places and beaches were really close by car or by foot if you like (I did it and it was 1 hour walking). The hostess was so friendly and always there whatever we need. You feel like home. See you next year ! :)

The house is on a hill, with a view that cannot be described in words. When you open the door in the morning you can see the sunrise from the sea, and on the terrace you can see the mountain landscape. It is a quiet place where you can only hear the sound of nature. Super nice host, the appartment was just perfect and squeakily clean. In a quiet location, perfect to relax and with an amazing view from the panoramic swimming pool. No problems finding parking, walking distance from Nanouras beach and just a 5 minutes drive from nice Taverns in Nas Village. Hope to come back one day 🙂

    We had such a wonderful stay with our two daughters. Kostas and his son are great hosts and took care of us. If you are looking for a silent, clean, closed to beach and restaurants, with an excellent view and peace, be sure you'll find all of these in the Kocheilas Studios.
