Beautiful homestay with the best food we had on the Yasawas. The room is quite new, it comes with a mosquito net and a spacious bathroom. The location is stunning, directly at the beach where you can do SUP or snorkeling. The owner and his family were welcoming us at the first evening with the traditional drink Kava, it was a surprise and a very nice experience. There were also kids who enjoyed joining us doing sports. The only thing that was a no go for us were the kids lurking through our windows when we were changing. But other than that, we would recommend it 100%!

There are three more private cabins and dorm, all right on beach. Facilities are basic, what you would expect on remote island but lice (not sure of spelling but pronounced lee-they I think)and Jo do allot of little things like solar phone chargers, solar lights at night. I was treated like family. Lice is a great cook, but again, food is limited to local sources.blue lagoon beach is wonderful (25 minute walk) and all activities are resonably priced, bring your own rods for fishing, and bring gifts for children or some preferred food from super

Amazing kind people! Especially Seru and Emily. I loved the family -vibe, the calmness of the environment and the beautiful beachfront. I would have happily stayed for longer. This was one of my favourite stops during my 3-week island hopping.

Emily and the rest of the family are extremely friendly. There was always some activities going on for the guests and plenty to do whilst you’re there. They offer snorkelling with the manta rays which we would highly recommend. The beach is beautiful, with a fantastic view of the sunset. The nearby reef is extensive and fantastic for snorkelling - we saw an abundance of marine life including sharks, stingrays and puffer fish. Food was generally tasty and there are coconuts in excess.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at Wai Makare. Jay and Emily were very welcoming and we had a great time relaxing in the hammocks (right on the beach - like a postcard), eating the delicious food and participating in many activities. We especially enjoyed the village trip (1/2 hr each way by boat), learning to weave baskets and bookmarks, spearfishing, coconut husking, and playing volleyball with the young men each evening, and some great games of cards with Jay in the evenings. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The staff at Wai Makare couldn't have been kinder - they were very welcoming, organised trips and activities, made us cups of tea in the afternoons and even provided a fire to sit by in the evening with musical accompaniment. Emily's baking is wonderful and a big shout out to Jay who made our time so fun and special. We loved the private beach away from it all, the comfy hammocks to read in, and the snorkeling straight off the beach. If you are looking for an authentic Fiji homestay on a paradise Island, this is it!
