Breakfast was lovely and fresh

We spent three weeks in Mauritius (rent a car around island) and Rodrig. The best part is actually Rodrig. I recommend at least eight days here..Mauritius is so, so ( except La morne and region we discovered that La Belle du Sud guesthouse has in fact an excellent location - only a three hundred meters (flat) to the bus station (a fairly frequent), close to a shop (150 m) and in the same time in the middle of nature . From airport- you could take bus to port mathurin, get out of the bus at mount lublin and take bust to Port du Sud… or take the bust to final stop in port mathurin and take bus there..)..There is a pleasant walk from the guesthouse around a kilometer and half to Morouk beach, from where you can further walk eastward from one beautiful)almost empty) beach to another all the way to the eastern beaches. In gravier are two restaurants). a truly wonderful walk on well-marked trails. We loved having at guesthouse a private large terrace surrounded by greenery and a view of the canyon and the sea. There is just one large apartment ( so you will be only guests) at guesthouse with everything you need (not luxury, but clean and pleasent , even kitchens) ...the dinners here prepared by father were extremely tasty, there was enough food for breakfast too. This is very important because in general is quite difficult to find open restaurant on rodriguez. We like a very nice family, too. In Port da Sud or Morouk beach (for sunset recommend( you could observe sunrise and sunset- very rare opportunity.. sunrise with all the sounds of the nature ( including animals and birds ) are in particular beautiful. Just climb a few meters from apartment up to hill- .. In general- the quality-price ratio here is probably the best you will find in Rod. and Mauritius. If you like calm atmosphere, nature , friendly people and tasty food you find the proper place . we only regretted that we only had a reservation for three nights .. we should stay at least seven days here…

Feeling part of the family in a home with stunning views, set in a beautiful valley. Waking each morning to the sound of the Indian Ocean. Peaceful days, local hikes, friendly locals. Home grown food, conversation into the evening. Going back to sleep with the sound of the reef...

Norbert has a very competent team of young people who are doing a fantastic job. I got addicted to the traditional Creole dishes. Dinners involved a three course meal and twice a week, a BBQ was prepared on the patio, followed by a local troupe performing Sega Tambour! Breakfasts were special too, tasty crêpes with honey and coconut, fresh fruit, good coffee and toast with local papaya jam and fresh butter left a taste of pure authenticity in my mouth. The Villa offers great views on the ocean, with the Baladirou Beach just a short walk away. I used the local buses, which go to every out corner of the island. With an included return transfer from the airport and a dinner bed and breakfast package, my days were hassle free to explore the island. My room overlooked the garden where birdsong was my wake up alarm. All the bedroom facilities were kept in impeccable condition with daily room service. In harmony with nature, embedded in tradions, Villa Paradise lived up to its promise!

We stayed 10 days in La terasse. The hosts Sydney & Miana are lovely and caring. We often had dinner together and they arrange all sorts of activities for us. The food is nice and in the guesthouse is such a great atmosphere. The house has a beautiful view over the lagoon and everything is comfortable and clean. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed every second of our stay. I highly recommend to stay with Sidney & Miana in La terasse!!!

Very relaxing stay - room was very comfortable with nice view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner are served on site and were very tasty. There's also a good restraurant within walking distance. We rented a scooter from the hotel which was more than sufficient to get around the island. There are beautiful walks that can be done from the area along the coast in either direction.

Excellent location, excellent apartment. Huge beds and bathroom. Balcony with an incredible view of the lagoon. Hosts are amazing. Christian is an exceptional chef and little attention to detail is excellent. Our stay was fantastic.
