I wanted to write a review based on my experience with the property and the communication with the host when they realized that they were double booked. We had dinner for 16 there and it was amazing. The Host family is great and the property is in an amazing location. My friends that stayed there loved it. It’s a little bit more expensive than some of the other options but from what I could see it’s worth it!

The staff deserve special recognition for their executional service. Every interaction — from reception to dining and housekeeping — was marked by attentiveness, courtesy, and genuine care. They anticipated needs before I even voiced them, ensuring a seamless and stress-free stay. The room arrangement was also remarkable. Thoughtfully designed with elegance and comfort in mind, the room offered a spacious layout, soothing décor, and every amenity one could need for both relaxation and productivity. The attention to detail in the setup reflected the hotel’s commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction. Overall, the Shangri-La Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of calm ambiance, exceptional staff service, and beautifully arranged rooms makes it a standout choice for both leisure and business travelers. I look forward to returning and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a refined and memorable stay.

One of the friendliest hosts I have ever met. Excellent breakfasts and dinners, everything is just like home. Wonderful people. No problems with water, there is a fan and air conditioning. The owner and staff do not impose anything on you beyond what you have agreed on. But at the same time they are always ready to help you if necessary. Imagine that you are very tired of the city bustle, constant noise, annoying and intrusive sellers. You want to escape somewhere to the ends of the earth. Then this is the place for you. Here you will be met by Thaliph, who will give you a room, feed you breakfast and express his readiness to introduce you to the beauty of Sri Lanka. Imagine a beach with fine white sand. Closer to the ocean, the sand is already chocolate color. And not a single tourist around, no one will prevent you from enjoying the beauty of the ocean. When we went to this guest house, we imagined a hotel, fuss, scurrying staff. But, after we checked in, we were left to our own devices. Fish with rice or vegetables, shrimp or fruit on the ocean shore are simply delicious. You will always be given fresh tea, and those who wish will be offered a bottle of beer. By the way, when you go out onto the terrace in front of the house, you are already on the shore and the ocean greets you. We were met at the airport. Upon arrival, the rooms were already ready for occupancy. Everything was clean and tidy. And again, without unnecessary fuss. If you want, they will organize any trip for you along any route: beaches, national parks, Buddhist temples, all the sights of Sri Lanka.

We appreciate the small extra things that our host did for us The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was tidy. The bed was comfortable and there was an outdoor verandah area as well Our meals were generous, tasty and well priced. It is close to beaches and the village centre. Local bus stand is about 300 metres away. This is a great place just to chill for a few days. Highly recommended

The accommodation provides evening entertainment and a concierge service. I stayed in Jade Green from 26-29th of March with 3 kids. Jade Hotel is close to the airport and is a great stay if you want to visit Yala National park; Birds Resort and Ridiyama park (to see all the animals). Great manager Mr. Claude has helped us find taxis at a fare price and suggested on excursions and relocation. He also offered us a better room when my daughter had some unexpected allergy and even helped us with doctor visit. My children were unable to eat breakfast because the food was too different for European taste and spicy, so Mr. Claude offered us bread, butter, egg and sausage making sure we are fed. He was always there to help us with everything and we felt safe. If you come to stay, you can ask him about excursions and places to visit. Food: we’ve had chicken soups for lunch and had dinners in Jade Green. Food is great; very delicious and not spicy (if you ask so). They can cook our food with all the local tasty herbs which makes the food great. Hotel can help you arrange taxi from the airport.
