The airy spacious room, reupholstered vintage chair, together with the straw roof high up there really made the ambience. Boasting a garden and views of inner courtyard, Rustic Inn is a recently renovated apartment situated in Swakopmund, 500 metres from South Beach. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. The rooms include a terrace with garden views and free WiFi. This was by far one of our favorite stays while traveling in Africa. The hosts communicated nicely before we arrived, sharing the location and asking us what we were interested in doing while in town. They also gave amazing recommendations for close by food and drinks. The room and outdoor space was nice and spacious, thoughtfully decorated, and felt easy to relax in. The shower was perfect after a day of activities with good pressure and heat. It was a much needed feeling of home after traveling for so long. We came as strangers and left feeling like family! Another part was their recommendation to do a tour of Sandwich Harbor with the tour guide, Gideon. Hands down an amazing experience with fresh oysters, champagne, and good eats while in the middle of the Namib desert. After we expressed a desire to sandboard, he ensured we had an amazing spot and prepared boards for multiple awesome rides. Then we enjoyed a spectacular Braai with everyone and it is something I will remember forever.

From the welcome of the host- who is such a sweet man- to the homemade breakfast by his sweet wife- I felt like I was staying at the home of family I had not seen in decades and they made me feel so welcome. What a beautiful oasis behind the gate- the perimeter garden is so lovely leading to every room - the additional outside seating areas were beautiful and sadly I was not there long enough to enjoy it. The rooms were clean, quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast was homemade and the extra buffet offerings gave so many additional options. What I loved the most was the Christmas decor- from the crocheted cutlery holders to the nativity scene- it was so warm and inviting! They even have a corner for the kids that is thoughtfully full of books and games. It is also so very close to the beach in a safe neighbourhood so this was also fantastic. Its a home away from home and I was so glad I chose this location to stay in Swakopmund.
