Everything was perfect, I wish I could give a higher rating. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The room was super clean, smelled very nicely, and was absolutely quiet (believe me on this one, I'm a very light sleeper.) The staff was simply fantastic, breakfast was superb, and the location was absolutely breathtaking. There's a restaurant right next to the hotel - it was, as you might have guessed already, also absolutely perfect (try their beef tatare and fries, mouthwatering!) Mobile phone reception was very good. We didn't check the Internet connection though, but frankly, if you wanna watch Netflix, just stay at home. But if you're around and want to do some sightseeing or just take a break from your normal life, just come and stay here.

Gintherhof epitomises genuine guest house hospitality in a way that no hotel, however smart or expensive, can possibly match. From exquisite antique linens to highest quality down duvets, to the provision of hiking rucksacks to borrow, the thought and care by Annelies and her parents was heartwarming. The farmhouse is full of charm and interesting artefacts at every turn, the pine panelled bedrooms so cosy and inviting. Breakfast was off the scale - in addition to fresh fruits, nuts, cereals and yoghurts, there was a vast selection of homemade breads and jams, with cheeses, hams, local eggs and other savoury delights. We were even given bags and encouraged to make a packed lunch for ourselves! We left feeling restored and grateful for such kindness and friendship. What a welcome we will never forget.

Absolutely beautiful place. Great view from the balcony. Good breakfast selection. We went on a hiking trail right behind the Resort and it was superb. Some of the most peace I've had in a while. The bathroom was across the hallway, but it was never occupied and always clean when we had to use it, and gave wonderful instructions on how to most peacefully conduct business. Some nice restaurants in the area. The people around the Retreat all had smiles on their faces. We would come again. And if only to once more see the light in the eyes of the owner.

    Lovely hotel run by Seiglinde, who manages to be cheerful and charming in any language despite the fact that I spoke no German and she had little English. Sparkling clean. The breakfast was lovely and handmade, and the views around the hotel are beautiful.

    The place is situated in a picturesque mountain valley, tourist paths starting on green meadows lead to higher summits. The room is super clean and newly furnished, same for private bathroom. Highly recommended and for sure will stay in Baldauf once again on our next visit to Berwang.
