this is a true gem of a guest house. it’s run by warm and conscientious owners who really understand how make the experience memorable. small touches go a long way, including the lovely communal spaces and gardens. the rooms are spotless and the location great. our family found this place a nice respite from a busy aswan.

JJ guesthouse is a wonderfull place. The all family is welcoming, and always smiling. You will feel like home. The rooms are spacious, fully equiped (AC, fridge etc) and beds are very confortable. The house is perfectly located with an amazing rooftop with Nile view. On the rooftop the best chef of Aswan will take care of you and served you delicious breakfast. We could wash our clothes here, wich was usefull. Do not look for another place, book here and you wont regret it. We were really lucky to be there and we hope we will come back one day. Thank you again JJ for everything.

The proximity to the Nile and the nearby villages adds to the charm, offering stunning views and opportunities to immerse in the local lifestyle. The food at King Mena Nubian Guesthouse is another highlight. Each meal was freshly prepared, showcasing authentic Nubian flavors that were both hearty and delicious. Dining here felt more like sharing a meal with friends than eating at a guesthouse—every dish was served with care and generosity. One of the best aspects of our stay was how connected we felt to the local community. The village’s vibrant culture and the warmth of its people made every interaction memorable. Whether we were strolling through the Elephantine Island, or chatting with the Nubians, there was a constant feeling of being welcomed and embraced. We loved our stay. Mr abu is a good man and did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Breakfast is also very nice. The stuffed omelette was really tasteful. The pick up and drop from the dock is a super manner to reach the place. Also the location is perfect for staying in aswan.

    Room is comfortable and clean, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location, very close to the city center. Although you need to take a boat to get there, you can contact the staff and will pick you up quickly, not take more than five minutes to arrive.

    Great location on Elephante meant lovely Nile views and roof top terrace which was excellent for both starting and ending the day. Mohammed is a wealth of information and a great host and made the stay very memorable. He was able to arrange cars for temple visits and a private ferry to get from island to mainland all very seamlessly and not a bit pushy. Highly recommend a stay at Meshra Katto.

    Great location next to the Nile and 5 minutes on foot from the ferry. Also very nice rooftop to chill by the river. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Ahmed is a great host, we were able to take our breakfast in a bag when we had to leave at 4am. He can also organize a trip to Abu Simbel at a reasonable price.

    Great location. Large apartment type accommodation directly on the nile. Amin was really nice and able to organise anything I needed. Right beside ferry that is very frequent and cheap. Lovely quiet island for walking around.
