Sorry) was welcoming and helpful and was apologetic that the bathroom on my floor was temporarily out of action. The premises in general showed signs of wear and tear but the overall feel was of a homely shabbiness that I rather liked. It’s not some soulless, sterile identikit hotel, it’s a guest house of the old school, and perfectly charming in its way.
