B&Bs in Bira

Baracoco Bungalows is beautiful accommodation overlooking Bara Beach. The staff are amazing, present, helpful, friendly and professional. They are also fantastic cooks. The regular menu is excellent, but they also have delicious specials. They once made me fresh new boiled potatoes in garlic and parsley butter sauce, which was not what I was expecting in South East Asia and made a tasty change from rice (which I like, but I appreciated the diversity of cuisine here). They also made the best gado gado I had in Indonesia. The sea view ocean front bungalow I had was wonderful, affording beautiful views out over the cerulean-blue Flores Sea. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bungalow kept cool by fresh sea breezes and a fan. Air conditioning is not necessary at all, the temperatures are perfect. It's an exciting five to six hour drive from Makassar, the contrast between tradition and modernity, people travelling in horse drawn coaches next to massive wind farms generating renewable energy, is fascinating. This is the perfect place to escape winter, and I spent three weeks here, and a total of a month in Indonesia and Malaysia.

I wanted to stay 1 nigth and i have finally stayed 10, the view its just the paradise, johan the owner is a really nice guy, gave me the best advices to visit bira and the other places, its clearly the Best hotel to stay in bira

really nice to open up immediately on to the beach. not much choice around in terms of food etc but they prepare huge dishes at a good price. rained for most of the time I was there unfortunately but still a nice break and great to watch the storm on the beach from my room

The place fully satisfies basic needs of an independent traveller. It has an air conditioning unit, free wifi with reasonable speed and bathroom. You wouldn't enjoy spending daylight hours here, but if you have sorted out your daytime activities it provides good rest during the night. The hostess is attentive and helpful.

Super host - very friendly and nice place directly at the beach (here you can also find some shedow during the whole day) totally recommend this Place!
