Alek, the owner is really welcoming and helpful. The food is cheap and really good. The organisation of the treck was perfect The place is central and the view on the river really appeciable. Good value for money. I recommand.

I have never felt so welcome in my life in a hotel. Adi, Coco, Sarah, Santa, Ellie, and everyone else. You are all amazing people. The amount of work you put in the Cheeky Monkeys and all this while wearing the biggest smile and showing the kindest heart is not to explain in words, only in experience. The accommodation is in a wonderful location, on the edge of the village where it’s quieter, yet still just a ten-minute walk to the center. Beautiful views of the river and the jungle beyond, where macaques roam and even an orangutan made an appearance. The macaques occasionally ran across our roof and balcony — the kids were thrilled. We went on several treks with guides from this accommodation, and all of them were amazing. We saw 12 orangutans of all sizes, macaques, Thomas leaf monkeys, turtles, and even hornbills. For those interested in more unusual animals, I highly recommend the evening snake walk — it was simply incredible. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We’re glad we chose Obiwan’s Indra Valley Inn for our stay in Bukit Lawang.

I loved my stay here! The bungalows are cosy and comfortable, located in a quiet area of forest away (but not too far) from the business of Bukit Lawang centre. There’s also a lovely river swimming spot just 5 min walk away! What made my time here the best was the kindness of Putra, Maya, and Fitraya. They are all lovely and make sure you feel at home. Not to mention, the food is amazing (especially the Chicken Rendang!) I did the 3 day 2 night trek with Putra and had such a fantastic time - he clearly knows a lot and cares for the jungle, it was such an awesome experience. I can’t wait to come back again 🙂 Terima kasih 🙏

Our stay here was amazing! The room is spacious, bed is comfortable, bathroom also nice and everything is clean. Also the room has a big balcony with incredible view. The staff was also great, we arranged everything we needed through them and it was not a problem. We also booked a one day jungle trek with them and it was excellent. Our guide Dani and his brother were good guides and also very nice people.

Nicely located in rice fields and with fish ponds. Bayu is an excellent host. He organized everything (airport transfer, overland tour to Lake Toba, jungle trekking) very well. We would like to emphasize the lovely, experienced and super-supportive jungle trek team with Jajang, Dony and Henry. While Janang is very knowledgeable and showed us 7 Orang Utans, some Thomas Leaf‘s Monkeys and Brown-handed Gibbons, Dony and Herny, did everything to take my almost blind wife by their hands and guided her 6 hours through the jungle. They paid as much attention, that she did not stumble and fall. Bayu recommended to skip going south to Bukkitinggi and Padang in rainy saison and consider visiting Pulau Weh/Sabang. We followed his recommendation and it was an unique experience! Terima Kasih Bayu!

I loved my stay here. The location is incredible - literally within the jungle. The staff are friendly and helpful, and took me out on a night jungle trek. I have never stayed anywhere like this, and I would recommend Back to Nature to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the jungle near Bukit Lawang. Truly a one of a kind accommodation.
