Lovely big room, bright and airy. Very comfortable beds! Good location for exploring the area. Despite being at the front of building (facing the street), we didn’t notice any street noise.

The friendliness of the staff and the truly very spacious rooms — everything looked as if it had just been renovated. We had a very good dinner and a good breakfast. The girls at the Butterbean took excellent care of us and were very attentive. We enjoyed our stay at the Butterbean more than words can say. Thank you for this exceptional hospitality. The Road Captain, the Coolman, the Doc, and Mister Nonsmoker. We will be back. Thank you.

    Clara, the host, is very warm and welcoming, very friendly and entertaining. She was very accommodating and cooked nutritious breakfasts for us every morning. All the products are organic and the location is ever so quiet and peaceful. It is near Ballyliffin and ever so scenic and beautiful. I went on long walks sorrounded by beautiful countryside and nature, a great location for Cardonagh and the Inishowen peninsula.

    Clara and German were very welcoming and helpful hosts. Clara even dried our wet jackets for us. The room was good for us, nice and quiet, good space. The breakfasts were excellent. Madra Rua is in a great location- comfortable drives to Malin Head and to Inch Island which are superb.
