Great accommodation, well placed for star trip. Excellent location for northern light chasing. The owners are very cooperative in all means. Very good breakfast in a Cousy and very pleasant dining room. Bottom line: warm recommendation.

The self-service check in was very smooth and the instructions sent by the owner explained everything clearly. The room and facilities were clean and the atmosphere is very homey. Highly recommended for someone looking for a place to spend one night or so in the middle of their icelandic adventures.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))

We really enjoyed our stay at Gaukshof! 🌟 The property is full of charm, with a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cozy , perfect for a relaxing night after exploring the area. The location is great, offering both tranquility and easy access to nearby sights. The room was a very modern room and with hot tub and nice view. Hot Tubs are on 24/7 which is great as you don't have to wait for it to become hot. This room gives easy access to golden circle and the other spots nearby.

Our holiday was incredibly enjoyable, especially thanks to our stay in this lovely and quaint house (the bed were so soft and comfortable), and the breakfast that was offered by our host was delicious The host Helgi was very kind and hospitable and we spent two interstellar evenings just chatting in the bar. iIf we’ll ever go back to Selfoss, we’ll definitely know where to stay!
