We arrived earlier than the check in time and the staff was helpful, keeping our baggages and putting it in our room. It's a new hotel so the room is very confortable and modern. The area is calm. It takes around 20 minutes walk to join the touristic places in the center of the citta alta.

Location was perfect, easy to reach from airport by public bus, just 10 min walk from last bus stop. We had room on 3rd floor, very nice little room for two. View over old towns main street. There was shared coffee machine for three rooms, we did nice espresso there. There is no lift in the building, a lot of stairs, but we liked it, it is an old building and you can see lemon trees and little local balconies behind the house when you walk up. Breakfast was served over the street in a little restaurant and was very tasty local products. We had also dinner downstairs in a restaurant Da Mimmo, I recommend it highly! Nice stuff, goog local wine and very tasty beef we had here👍

Staying at Porta Antica was probably the most comfortable and pleasant accommodation I experienced in Bergamo. As a relatively new property, everything feels fresh and spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive — they even asked about my condition right after check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. The location is ideal. Just a 2-minute walk from the funicular stop in the upper town (Città Alta), it’s surrounded by charming local shops and a mini supermarket, making the area feel both lively and safe. All the main sights are within walking distance, so it’s easy to pop back into the room for a break during the day. During my stay, I enjoyed early morning runs through the old town — the views along the city walls are stunning, and grabbing a morning coffee at the famous La Marianna café made for the perfect start to the day. The room was equipped with Illy coffee, a nice touch that made me feel like I was truly in Italy. The hairdryer was surprisingly powerful, which was a big plus for me. The staff responded to messages quickly and always with a warm, helpful attitude. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Bergamo, I absolutely recommend Porta Antica. It was a flawless experience from start to finish!

    Great location, comfortable room, very easy access (codes worked first time and no problem finding property or room). Nice modern bathroom (private). Our room had beautiful wooden shutters overlooking a quaint street. A huge selection of teas, coffee, biscuits in the communal area. It was great to also be able to leave our luggage in the communal area in the morning to allow us to explore Bergamo before heading onwards.

    Good location , close to city center, close to Porta Nuova from where you can take bus no 1 (or 1a, 1b, 1c) for Cita Alta; close (<10 minutes walk) from train station from where you can go to Como Lake or Milano; safe area, good restaurants ; very nice host , with a lot of valuable info about Bergamo; quiet, spotless clean room with private toilet.

    Great location to walk to the old city center. We enjoyed both the old and the new city centers. Room was comfortable and the breakfast and terrace was good. Federica was a great host. There was a parking station just around the corner.
