Absolutely gorgeous home! As a westerner, the traditional japanese style was breathtaking. This home is very spacious for 2 people and there were so many incredible details to the property. Best of all, our host, Mizuho went above and beyond to help us with our stay. We took the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route to Nagano early in the morning on the day we checked out. Mizuho helped us plan out our journey and she offered to drive us to the train station very early in the morning. It was very generous of her and made our trip through the route possible when we had trouble scheduling a taxi. She is a wonderful host and we had a fantastic stay.

Absolutely amazing experience, the beds were comfortable and the facilities were good. Really loved the lively atmosphere here as the space also works as a sort of community space. Was a pleasure to chat with the locals and play card games. Wish I had stayed for more than one night. Thanks for the great time and all the best to everyone I got to meet!

The hosts were incredibly nice. I loved our breakfast time with them and the fun conversations. Iwase is beautiful and I highly recommend spending plenty of time in the surrounding area. It is such a gem. This inn is easy to get to via Toyama tram. It's about a 30 min trip from the station including a short walk. Thank you so much. We hope to see you again soon!

The host was very friendly and showed as around town both during the day and the evening. He showed us some cool hidden spots by the beach and even did some small sparklers with us. Even though there was a language barrier we both used translation apps and I felt like we really got to know each other that way. It’s not the most “normal” stay and those looking for more of a hotel experience might not like it, but for those looking to have an adventure in Japan and to meet new people this place was perfect.

It was our first time visiting Toyama and Iruka Hostel, our 1st accommodation, did not disappoint! It was also a first time for us in a hostel instead of a hotel that we usually take. And no complaints! Checking in was swift. The front desk was able to inform us in detail the facilities and guidelines. They accommodated our request that our beds are next to each other since we have teens with us. Hostel was well-organized. Facilities were great. A short walk to Kansui Park which we loved! The surrounding neighborhood was very serene. And Iruka is just a 7 to 10min walk from Toyama Station. They also gave us complimentary RT Tram tickets which we used to visit the Glass Museum! Most of all, they were kind enough to let us leave our luggages for the entire day and assisted us hailing taxi cabs to our next destination. Thank you very much, Kato-san! We truly appreciate your kindness and assistance. Highly recommended!
