The owner was very nice to me. He offered me free drining water and arranged it himself. Two times I got lost, I couldn't find my way to the guest house, since it's a bit further inside from the main road. He was very kind to come and pick me with his motorcycle. The room and toilet was newly built and clean. AC was working perfectly fine, although during night I didn't need it. The bed was comfortable and huge. He also provided me with cutleries when I needed. There's public transport available to Pollonaruwa 10 minutes walking distance from the place. Getting a Tuktuk might be a bit challenging.

A little gem. Located next to the ancient city. Upali offers simple yet great accommodation. Amazing food prepared by his wife. Night walk around the land pointing out local animal species. Lots of deer in the garden as well as bird species around a large pond. Great place to relax. Extended my says and will return. Bikes availabile at a good price. Many thanks for your hospitality. 😊

New Haven Polonnaruwa has been, by far, the best guesthouse I've been in my whole trip. The place is brand new, extremely comfortable and clean. It is also decorated with good taste. The exterior area, still under construction, is spaceous, and has a lot of possibilities. It has a traditional kitchen built in clay, and an area to have breakfast/lunch/dinner very cozy and nice. Congratulations to the chef! Food is so good! The owner, Iran, puts a lot of love on the project. Also he has shown me his amazing paddy field, we've collected coconuts together and do not worry if the place doesn't have a swimming pool (yet), because he took me to a canal for a nice swim very near from the place.

Very large room and bathroom, bigger than most in Sri Lanka. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff, nothing was too much trouble, even arranged bicycle rental for us. Be sure to eat dinner there to enjoy their delicious curries! They also helped us to flag down the correct bus going along the highway to our next stop! Thanks so much!

We enjoyed our 1 night stay here! Chaminda and his family were friendly, helpful, and hospitable. The room was of a good size for the two of us, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The shower pressure and hot water were acceptable. It was walking distance to Lion Rock and I also liked that Chaminda shared about the other tours or rides that he can offer (he has a tuktuk) without being pushy, and he gave us complimentary rides a couple of times too. They also provided us with a superb breakfast which included some traditional Sri Lankan food. Do note that they have a dog (which was chained) and a kitten. There were a few mosquitoes and flies in the room (quite typical in Sri Lanka) but after awhile, they were gone (might have been due to the electric pest repellent). And they didn’t bother us at all. There’s also a mosquito net that can be used to cover the bed but we didn’t have to use that. We would stay here again!

Great place in great location run by great people. Harsha and his family are amazing, very kind people, always trying to help. The room is brand new and everything is well maintained. Really clean. The food might be the best we have had during our stay in Sri Lanka, specially the dinner.
