A Perfect Start to Our Sri Lanka Adventure – Moni Farmhouse, Wilpattu Our stay at Moni Farmhouse in Wilpattu was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized by Buddika, who managed our transfers, meals, accommodation, and safari experience with incredible professionalism and kindness. He personally arranged our pick-up from Negombo, coordinated the drive to Wilpattu, and took care of every detail of our stay. The following day, we enjoyed a full-day safari in Wilpattu National Park, which I highly recommend! We were lucky enough to spot sloth bears, leopards, and elephants—a truly unforgettable experience. Moni Farmhouse is brand new and beautifully designed. It felt like staying in a private suite surrounded by nature, offering peace, comfort, and total immersion in the wilderness. All our meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—were freshly prepared and delicious. After our stay, Buddika also arranged our transfer to Anuradhapura, making everything seamless and stress-free. We are deeply grateful to Buddika for his warm welcome and outstanding hospitality. Thanks to him, our journey through Sri Lanka started in the best possible way. Highly recommended!

Great location. Nicely tucked away from the road amongst the forest. Lots of birds including jungle fowl to watch from the patio. Walk in from the road via a pathway. They met us to help carry our bags. Dinner was traditional Sri Lankan curry - vegetarian or chicken. Followed by yoghurt and fruit for dessert. Plenty of food, not spicy and was yummy. Other options for dinner were fried rice or vegetable noodles. Breakfast was packed for us for the following day safari. 2 egg sandwiches, a banana, yoghurt and water. Sufficient for the half day. The best part is the very close lake and dirt road. We went for a walk with binoculars and saw deer, langurs, crocodile, hornbills and lots of other birds and lizards too. A much better, slower paced experience and one not to miss. We booked a half day tour with the host. In hindsight we would have booked a different tour. Pillows weren't overly comfortable but was OK for 1 night.

We loved everything! But the hosts were something extra. They helped us with everything, for example solving a dental emergency, driving us to the bus stop, driving us to a lunch place and organising acitivites. When we arrived we mentioned that we had been to a cooking class in Negombo and that we had enjoyed that a lot. The owner then directly set up a little cooking class for us to do with his family. We were cooking with the family and we had an amazing time and amazing food. If we ever come back to Anuradhapura we will for sure stay here again!

Really nice place, i can definitely recommend it. The room itself and bathroom are very Clean, the bed is comfortable and has a good mattress. The room is equipped with everything you need and has both AC and a fan on the ceiling. Staff is very friendly. The House is located not directly on the Main street, therefore its very quiet at night. The House has a nice terrace in front, perfect to chill in the evening or enjoy the excellent breakfast (i had the local one). The owner of the place, sampath, is very friendly and helps you Out with everything you need. He organized some very cool Tours for me and gave me recommendations on where to eat and how to get arround. If you have some days to spend in anuradhapura stay at City tourist rest, you won't regret it.
