The Signal Box is perfectly formed- well considered in every way. The setting is amazing, a rural scene overlooking the beautiful Whanganui River. Chickens and ducks, and a wide range of fruit trees lie between the Signal Box and the River. The large trees are home to native birds. There's always something to watch or contemplate on. It is so peaceful. The Signal Box is set up for two people so don't bring the family . You need to be able to climb a flight of stairs to get there but once inside the 180 degree outlook is a wondrous thing. And all of this just 8 minutes drive to town! It would be a great place to have some alone time.

The lodge is a prime example of how hospitality should be lived. Upon arrival, you receive a warm welcome – a personal touch and with a lovingly prepared aperitif. The hot tub is already heated and invites you to relax. All rooms are furnished with great attention to detail and provide a warm, inviting atmosphere. Added to this is the high standard of cleanliness – you feel at home from the very first moment. The beds are extremely comfortable; we slept wonderfully. The absolute highlight was the breakfast: individually prepared, fresh, plentiful, and simply delicious. A big thank you to Lois and Alan for your wonderful hospitality – we felt right at home and will definitely be back!

This property is absolutely gorgeous Well set out And well stocked with all your needs Beautiful bed , electric blanket and heating for the cold nights The property owners were so lovely and accommodating and cleaned and emptied bins each day and had fresh milk available for a cuppa on my arrival

It is a beautiful apartment setup very close to the city center. We found it very comfortable and could have stayed there much longer. Our host was friendly and arranged a late checkout for us which was much appreciated.
