We are in a great location — only 5 minutes on foot from Itsukushima Shrine and Daisho-in Temple, and 15 minutes from the Mt. Misen trail entrance.

We booked two rooms for our family of four. We were pleasantly surprised how spacious they were, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The host was incredibly kind, he suggested the best places to eat and buy locally produced lemon pastries, and when we were leaving, he brought his cat, Tiger, and waved goodbye to us. As we were on a three-day bike trip and only had our small backpacks with us, we loved the fact that everything was provided: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, etc. In each room there were even a couple of bottles of water and everything for making tea and coffee. In the common spaces there was a microwave, guidebooks, manga books, and a wall full of Toso Maps of the Shimanami Kaido trail. We will definitely book Bed&Cafe Onzo again next time we bike the Shimanami Kaido!

With quiet street views, this accommodation offers a balcony. The great Torii is 600 metres away and Itsukushima Shrine Treasure Hall is 800 metres from the guest house. The breakfast was amazing. So beautifully prepared and served. The hospitality is exceptional. We had bed warmers for the night and were sent on our way with hand warmers as the weather was cold.

Made my day that much better than it could be. Really appreciate their help and the atmosphere that they have cultivated at Pawpaw.

He let me check in early because I arrived by bicycle (twice in fact). I returned because I liked it so much and felt at home. The place is probably the cleanest hotel in Japan, and that’s saying something. Also, the dining room chairs are so comfortable. Highly recommend.
