On arrival it was plain to see that this place was going to be exceptional. We felt completely at home and the family went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable. The room was spotless and welcoming and the facilities were fantastic. Breakfast was always an experience to remember. So many different dishes to try that it is impossible to finish. We also had an evening meal which had an amazing choice of different curries that were more authentic and delicious than anything we have tried so far in Sri Lanka. We definitely recommend this superb homestay in Sigiriya.

Lovely hosts, they helped organise transportation for us to and from Pidurangala rock for sunrise as well as a car from their home stay to our next location, Kandy. Our safari was also suggested and arranged for us by our hosts. The little things go a long way. We arrived in a downpour and our hosts very kindly met us both by the cars with umbrellas whilst they helped us with our bags. Breakfast was delicious, too and we were enjoyed having dinner with the hosts on the first evening we arrived. When staying at Yashi’s place, you must visit the Lady Cafe at the end of the road - this was a great recommendation by the host and the best food we had throughout our whole trip in Sri Lanka. The room was large and clean. The gardens surrounding Yashi’s place were beautiful - we especially enjoyed seeing the peacocks in the trees as we ate our meals!

Located a short walk down a small side road, the quaint cottages are away from the hustle and bustle of central Sigiriya and allows you to take in the sounds of nature. Chathuri and her sister’s breakfast was sensational and a very nice introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine for us. Chathuri’s husband Gayan was ready and waiting to pick us up from Habarana train station and we were also able to arrange a safari with Gayan which was sensational! I would recommend this place to all couples and solo travellers as a beautiful place to stay in Sigiriya and Sri Lanka.

The staff was incredibly friendly, and the owner personally took us to Pidurangala Rock at 5:30 am by tuk-tuk to see the sunrise, and waited for us (extra fee). The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and truly authentic. As a lovely parting gesture, we received magnets during check-out. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm and memorable experience!
