At the guest house, the units are fitted with bed linen and towels. The comunication with Leel and Nisal was very fluent and helpful before our arrival in Sri Lanka. They arrange the airport transfer to their place, the accommodation for two nights and the amazing safari in Wilpatu NP. Everything was great, all by plan (even the leopards) and we enjoyed a lot our stay. The place is super chill and surrounded by nature, just at the door of the national park. Everything is clean and the meals delicious. The best choice to meet wild fauna and wonderful people. Bohomo istouti!!

A balcony with outdoor furniture and garden views is offered in each unit. At the guest house, the units have bed linen and towels. The Backwaters lodge has everything that a naturelover is looking for. We really had the best time here in the middle of nowhere close to the Wilpattu National Park. The staff is really helpfull and very friendly, the rooms are right into nature but still have the luxury of having warm water and AC, great and an extended breakfast and dinner, I can go on and on. If you want to go on a safari at Wilpattu they can arrange a private jeep for you (which is a must do ofcourse). Further to fill in your time you can just hang out at the beautifull chillspots on the ponds or in the jungle or you could go kayaking with the kayaks available at the lodge. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the lodge a little more.

At the guest house, all units are equipped with bed linen and towels. It was very clean, Very friendly people. Food was good. They helped us organise the jeeps to wilpattu. Everything went perfectly.

Additional in-room amenities include wine or champagne, fruits and chocolates or cookies. I had a wonderful stay with Riswan and his family. They truly care about offering the best possible experience to their guests and sharing the beauty of their region. They even managed to organize a last-minute safari for me at a very reasonable price, especially considering how well the day went (great driver, breakfast + lunch included) – $50 for a half day, $95 for a full day. As for the wildlife, I was lucky not only in the park but also around the village where the guesthouse is located. It’s not uncommon to see one or even several elephants passing by – though of course, that’s up to Mother Nature! Overall, a fantastic experience. A big thank you to Riswan and his brother for their kindness and for taking the time to help me plan my route. Good to know: there’s a local bus that runs from the village to Puttalam for 150 LKR, 1h, starting around 7 AM, with connections to many other destinations from there.

We were in touch with the owner, Dylan, even before we got to Sri Lanka - as he helped us with booking a full day safari. Dylan has been very helpful and when we at last minute decided to come a day early, he also helped us arrange a pick up. The place is great with a fantastic garden, the room was clean with a comfortable bed. We got served breakfast and dinner every night, and were really well looked after. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place. There are also bikes you can borrow. Thanks again to Dylan (also for arranging our inwards travel) and his staff.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous. We staying in a tree- house room and really enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife from our balcony

With free private parking, the property is 39 km from Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 40 km from Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Attikulama Tank is 43 km away and Galgamuwa Railway Station is 48 km from the guest house. Great place to stay close to the entrance of the park. The host was amazing and cooked us a really delicious dinner! We walked in the afternoon to the lake side where we spotted some crocodiles!
