Load shedding in South Africa is one of the anxieties of most foreign travelers, but in that situation, I could enjoy the beautiful starry sky from the large balcony instead. The hotel was located in a safe area in Stellenbosch. The owner was super friendly and gave me helpful travel bits of advice. Everything perfect!

During your stay at the Auberge Burgundy Boutique Hotel & Spa, you can easily visit the popular local restaurants, the craft market, boutiques, art galleries and quaint shopping malls. The beach is also just 50 metres away, offering a variety of water-sports and nature tours. The location was perfect with a view from our balcony to the bay. The rooms were spacious and the shared common room were fantastic. The staff we exteremely kind and responsive. They gifted us a bottle of wine for the most minor of inconvenience. The breakfast box for our early morning departure was tremendous!

The Breakfast menu was thoughtful of our vegan lifestyle. My wife became a full fan of their home prepared granola.

Great location with some lovely walks alongside the river in both directions. Only a 20 minute stroll to the restaurants in the central part of Wilderness. The accommodation is very well appointed with a fabulous verandah area, perfect for sitting out in the warm, sunny weather we enjoyed. We ate out for dinner on the four nights we were there, but self catered our breakfast using the excellent facilities provided.
