We had a wonderful time in this very nice and ccomfortable apartment. Landlady - Ms. Heike Wannemacher was very nice, communicative and with positive energy:)! This apartment is located few kilometers from Ga-Pa so, for skiing you have to use a car, but on the other hand it is quiet place with beautiful surroundings. Big advantage is italian restaurant at the first floor. Once, when the restaurant was fully ocupied, Chef brought order to our apartment!!! Free public parking was in front of the building.

    This is easily the best stay we had on our entire trip. The staff is extremely friendly, breakfast was excellent, the property is conveniently located close to hiking trails and the village has a very relaxed feel. We will be back for longer. Highly recommended!

    I used to live in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area and have friends who live just a couple blocks from this hotel. As someone who has spent years in this area, I always send friends to stay here when visiting the area. Hotel Gasthof Alter Wirt is one of the most affordable accommodations in this otherwise expensive part of Germany. The breakfast is nice and the rooms are comfortable. There is ample street parking and good wifi. Farchant is a lovely village and I definitely encourage people to stay here.

    In a good location, close to Garmish this Gasthof is in a small Bavarian Village with Baker,Butcher, Ice cream and Schwimmbad. Tons of hiking trails. When arriving you'll be greeted by a friendly receptionist that in a pinch will also serve your dinner. Great rooms,sparkling clean nothing missing. You won't need an alarm clock, the sun and the marching cows, yes cows, will give you a friendly wake up. Food in the restaurant is fantastic as well. In the morning you'll be served a breakfast that will keep you going all day.

    Beautiful new rustic modern 3rd story condo in a village just outside of Garmisch. Unbelievable views of the mountains from all windows and skylights. Bery well equipped kitchen. The village has a bakery just a few minutes walk from the unit that we enjoyed. The host Susie lives below and was very helpful with access to unit and washer/ dryer use ( for a small fee) in the basement. Exceeded our expectations.
