Manuela is the most accommodating proprietress. She made sure we were comfortable and even set up our breakfast on the beautiful terrace on the day the weather warmed up. The view is really bella! She gave us recommendations for a couple of very good nearby restaurants and told us about Piazza Armerina, an 8th century Roman villa with a plethora of well preserved mosaics. Manuela even lent us a book about it that was in English. The place is immaculate. There is a drying rack on the balcony that was useful as we'd been traveling for weeks and needed to wash out a few things. While Valguarnera Caropepe is a little off the beaten track, it is beautiful and there are interesting sites to see within driving distance. It was great to be away from the touristy areas of Sicily and to interact with locals too! Highly recommend!

Enzo could not have been more helpful. We were supposed to walk to Assoro on the Cammino di San Giacomo but appalling rain and thunderstorms made it too dangerous. Taxi to Assoro? No need - we'll take you. And they let us stay in the dry till midday. Unbelievably kind and cheerful!

This is an old villa from 1576, with a church and a museum, which we definitely recommend to visit (for an additional fee of 5 euros per person). The owner Davide is an archaeologist who puts his heart and soul into this property. He still conducts excavations on the territory. Davide gave us a wonderful tour of the property and told us about the history of his family and the finds that he constantly finds on the territory. This is where we felt the real old Sicily. The bonus - is the really clear and bright starry sky. Breakfast - fruits, sausage, cheese, yogurts, coffee, milk, water, cookies, croissants and homemade eggs from his own farm, which are incredibly delicious.

    Agriturismo Paparanza is situated on the Valguarnera road and a 20-minute drive from the Outlet Village. The self-catering cabins are clean and equipped for a comfortable stay with manicured grounds and a sizable swimming pool. A refreshment bar is right next to the pool. Hosts Filippo and Monica are very helpful and always there to help. I highly recommend it.

    Location, overlooking the countryside and distant hilltop villages is fabulous. Village of Valguarnera is 5min drive away, has all the basics. Great terrace, BBQ area and nice pool (unfortunately it was closed) Pet friendly.
