The Kimura family are such nice people and they put their heart and soul into everything! Communication went well although we had to use an app as I don‘t speak Japanese (yet). Extremely welcoming staff! The interior is very well designed and warming, and the location is perfectly in the center of Hirosaki, a short walk away from the main attractions and castle. They have cider brewed from world heritage Shirakawa apples, one of the best ciders I've had!

The hotel is located within the Towada-Hachimantai National Park and just down the road from the Hakkoda ropeway if you're hoping to see the famous snow monsters. Although in a remote location, the drive up was one of the most picturesque snowy landscapes we're experienced in Japan. The hotel is well insulated, incredibly clean with amazingly plush beds and the staff were incredibly friendly too. We did the half board which was well worth it- ended up with a 9 course dinner and then a breakfast buffet. The main highlight though of course was the outdoor onsen looking onto the snowy trees whilst bathing in the onsen water. The hotel is small-medium size place so you're more than likely to have the onsen to yourself, which is much nicer than some of the bigger complexes or if you're looking for more of a meditative onsen experience. Finally, this place even has it's own little shrine next to the hotel to admire.

This was the best place we stayed in our entire trip to Japan! Tama is a wonderful host and will advise on what to do around Hiraka and Hirosaki, the place is clean and cozy and the cats are adorable (especially Fox!). Also, the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend Misato Memorial Hall if you're travelling and want to know more about Japan and the Japanese culture. Thank you Tama for the excellent stay!
