This is a superb and extremely spacious property with a beautiful enclosed garden and outstanding facilities. The area would be tricky to reach without a car and doesn't itself have particular attractions, but is a wonderful place to base yourself to explore Nara and the surrounding landscape. We had an exceptional stay.

Very luxurious Ryokan very close to the deer park which allowed us to explore the nicest area of Nara in the evening as well as early morning. The dinner was exceptional and they went above and beyond to meet dietary wishes. We had the room with private onsen which is definitely a recommendation! It was quite expensive but our best stay of the trip! The staff was very friendly too

Tsukihitei is located in the Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

the best ryokan ever! fantastic location! super nice everything! the meal exquisite, the staff also, very paciente and responsive to all our questions, next time definitely we will try to stay more than one night! we had the best time! we loved it!

The host Ayaka was very hospitable! She arranged to meet us at a nearby supermarket to buy ingredients to cook on the traditional fireplace and then led the way to the property which is located in the primeval forest of Nara. She then showed us how to start the charcoal fire for grill and hotpot. The futon beds were very comfortable, perfect for a good rest after a sumptuous meal around the fireplace, and a good soak in the tub.

10 mins drive away from Nara Park, quiet little house away from the crowd. Clean and comfortable with free use of its facilities. The host is accommodating and even provides recommendations on food around the area. He speaks good English, so communication is easy. As we are unable to reserve a slot at the strawberry farm over the phone, he did so willingly despite being outstation in Tokyo. We had a good stay in this peaceful and lovely house.
